Well, some Rethuglican operatives like Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham have already proposed limiting the right to vote to white males only anyhow so they could start winning major elections again.

Why do you think Rethugs are constantly trying to regulate vaginas and saying ridiculous crap about rape? The whole basis of the party platform is to subjugate women and minorities.

Right now, there's a movement for women and girls to dump men and boys who are not pro-choice over this Texas thing, now expanded to Ohio and North Carolina. It will resonate with younger women quite well. A man who isn't pro-choice is definitely a burden to a woman rather than a blessing in every case.

actually Romney paid taxes even if not at the punitive rate progressives would like successful individuals to pay. You might be thinking of the leftward leaning corporation GE that paid $0 in taxes. But lets not enter reality or facts into the conversation.

Romney's "success" is about as noble and inspiring as that of Edward Teach, AKA Blackbeard the Pirate.

The concept GE is a "leftward leaning" corporation is ridculous. There's no such animal certainly not one that size. You've bben listening to too much foxaganda

Some of you watch to much Fox Farce News yes Flip Flop Rommnesia paid SOME taxes but not any on the 250 million hidden away in Cayman's. Ever wonder high the tax rate on the wealthy goes down and yours goes up _HUM. and Corporations like GE,Exxon and others paid no tax, but you do.
Let me tell you about Fox Farce News. Maryland Univ, Fairleigh-Dickerson and 5-6 other Univ's and a Org in Canada did some research on how well people know about current events in reference to where the get their news. They asked thousands of people current event questions , then separated the answers by where they get their news. Those who primarily get their new from Fox Farce scored in the low 30% and those who get their other places scored in the middle 70% in other words Fox Farce News makes you stupid. But facts are a nuisance for those leaning right.

Take a look at our country today and the shape we are in I don't think at this point it matters who votes mentally ill or not. Who determines who is mentally ill? The last I heard, correct me if I am wrong, it is the electoral vote that counts in national elections not the popular vote so what difference does it make anyway. I think everyone should have an opportunity to vote if they want to I just don't think it really counts for anything except in local elections..well if you vote I guess it gives you the right to bitch, call people names and tell them how stupid they are for not agreeing with them.

Except the electoral vote is determined by the actual vote in each state. Forty eight states and the District of Columbia allocate electoral votes on a winner take all basis. Maine and Nebraska allocate two votes on a winner take all basis and the rest by who carries the separate congressional districts.

In close elctions the more who vote the closer things get sometimes. Consider for example the 1968 Presidential election. It is especially telling that it was a three way election, although George Wallace's third party viability was largely confined to the South. It was the beginning of the "Southern Strategy" which led to Republican dominance of the region. But it was touch and go at first. Many right-wing Republicans did not trust President Nixon who was after all a creature of the Nelson Rockefelller wing of the party. Nixon's early obtaining of the endorsement of Senator Strom Thurmond of South Carolina was essential, because he carried both Carolinas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, and Virginia by very narrow margins, sometimes with pluralities as low as 37% in the three-way race. Also, the votes in the big electoral vote states of Ohio, Illinois, and California were very close - between Nixon and Humphrey, Wallace a distant third. Nixon carried all three for a narrow victory. Some said if there was one more vote for Humphrey in every voting precinct then Humphrey would have won.

"if you dont vote you deserve what you get", that would imply that if you DO vote you dont deserve what you get. even when i vote i dont deserve what i get. i think an example of the futility of voting would be the supreme court deciding who won the presidential race in florida by giving it to george bush,, and i am not a bush basher per se,, he was/is just a patsy. there is some truth to what lost boy says. you wont change his views with your idealism. EVERY citizen without a felony sould be allowed to vote. any other amendments to this is fascism.

Felony voting is regulated by state......not across the board.

In KS, you can't vote due to a felony until all time is served including probation and/or parole. Even then, the convicted felon must present proof and ask to be reinstated.

Kobach won`t be happy until the voting prerequisite in Kansas is white , heterosexual, conservative , evangelical , right wing , Republican males at least 40 years of age.

If people weren't allowed to vote due to mental illness our legislator body would be in the unemployment line or on disability for not being able to fulfill their job duties of VOTING.

The attempts to suppress the votes of minorities , the poor , and the elderly has merely given those groups the resolve and determination to get out and vote against those clowns. Gotta love it , to see their tactics backfire on them. Take THAT , Kobach , you pompous azzhat !!!

the wording is not clear - so I voted the wrong way - as I'm sure others would to -- it's a very important issue so it needs to be worded correctly. People shouldn't lose their God given right to vote because of a poorly constructed question.
