What do you mean most people have jobs? So who cares if 90 million people can't find a job. You have a job so everything is just fine. 41% of the people that were in the workforce are now unemployed. You find that way better? I would hate to seed what it would be like if you said it was bad.

Mitt Romeny said that 37% didn't matter anyways....so 41% ain't bad! Wonder if he figured out why he lost yet?

The powers that be certainly wouldn't run anyone who might have beat Obama. That was all by design. You must not have read my other posts.
Considering that this discussion contains 6400+ posts and you have 8400+ posts, it's very possible that I missed a few. Or perhaps the powers that be have prevented me from seeing those important insights.

Teaching the theory of Intelligent Design alongside the theory of Evolution is a completely reasonable proposition to anyone without an agenda. It does not teach "religion", it merely takes into account the numerous problems with both the theory of evolution as it pertains to the development of life on this planet and seeks to explain how the universe came into being in the first place. The discovery of the Big Bang put to rest the proposition (illogical as it was) that was held by many that the universe had always existed. Carl Sagan "The Universe is all that is or was or ever will be."
If only Intelligent Design could be elevated to the status of a theory, tell us what does the Theory ID predict, perhaps the unseen and unknown intervention of an unnamed Designer - by the way who is this designer. How can we tell what the Designer did in the past and what is being done today. How we can tell the difference between a designed mutation and one that has occurred due to the environment. Tell us all about the agenda that really isn't religious.

Be easy on the Republicans. You know they're naturally paranoid and easily frightened. You go scaring them and we'll have to leave the lights on all night.
That's NOT good for climate change!(Which every scientist not on the Koch Brothers payroll accepts as irrefutably proven scientific fact. But we know Republicans don't understand science..)
You're best at bullying and insults, that sums you up. Let's go easy on Doo man & Buttface, they're awfully sensitive little L wingers.

Sad to say but there are still some on this forum who have'nt learned their lesson about bush. I never see any form of repentence from these sick minded individuals who have'nt accepted the permanent damage they and their president bush did to our country. Untill they do we will be at the polls every 4 years and remind these sickos that tey wil never puke another reptile o us like thy did in 2000 and 2004. Untill then folks let them whine to each other about Obama.

I thought perhaps you were a long time reader/poster. BTW, I've not missed your tone. lol
I'm not even sure the republicans will put up a viable person in the NEXT election. Hillary will be running, so there will be another social experiment. Just depends on badly Obama continues to screw things up.

I can't wait for the Clinton/Biden or Biden/Clinton ticket. That should make for a fun election.

If the Republicans keep going the same direction they've been going the last few years they will probably put up a circus clown just to appease their core constituents. Maybe they'll put up a mime so they can avoid the problems they had with Romney - actually telling people their platform.

<quoted text>Don't forget to add in the EXTRA $700 billion unaccounted funds for Hurricane Katrina. Who's responsible for that? I don't care what anybody says about Obama.. I'm an independent voter ... but the Bush-Cheney administration left one helluva mess. The smart ones are very, very aware... that both parties dream about each other failing. Neither party wants the other to succeed. The division has the US in a death spiral. As they say, no outside force will bring America down. The division amongst us is doing a speedy job. Those evil, immoral monsters on Capitol Hill should be tossed into the very oceans they've allowed poisoned. Quite frankly, I'm sick of both parties & Capitol Hill. We're toast people, past the point of no return. It's too late. If there is even partial recovery... we wont see it for a loooooong time. IO, is not a crazy man....nor a troll... you simply disagree with him and automatically despise him.
Thank you for a post with a sane, and in fact, reasonable position.

<quoted text>Except that $15 trillion did NOT "promote the general welfare" - it trapped people in a cycle of dependence and discouraged a stable family. Now we have 70% of black children being raised without a male authority figure in the home so the only model of male behavior for young boys growing up is the thug on the street. The gang has become the family and you are left with black on black crime that makes inner city black neighborhoods a war zone. 20 innocent children are tragically murdered by a mentally ill young man and Obama's answer is to limit the gun rights of law abiding citizens. Meanwhile, 260 school age children have been killed in Chicago in the last three years and Obama's proposed restrictions would do NOTHING about those stats.[you remember Chicago,- Obama's old stomping ground, where he sat in the pew for 20 years and listened to a race baiting bigot of a preacher who twisted the Bible even better than you do.]

You are still misinterpreting the Bible in an unconscionable manner and you still don't understand the tax code despite numerous attempts to point out your mistakes. Your posts will never persuade the discerning because your willful ignorance is so obvious.
Ironically, my accountant informs me I have a very reasonable understanding if the tax code; and
my friend who is a Catholic Priest, and our minister inform menI have a very informed and unusually thorough knowledge of the Bible, perhaps as a result of having taken undergraduate classes in comparative religions and history classes focused on the Middle East,
perhaps numerous trips to many foreign countries throughout the world where I worked with Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs also helped.

I couldn't agree with you more that the culture of inner cities is counterproductive and creates a downward spiral - but the answer is to invest more in stopping the spiral, not creating permanent underclass in America.

Let's stop wasting a Trillion Dollars a year on the War Department, and, as our competition does, use the money to build schools, hire teachers and mentors; create a culture that respects and rewards education, training, and achievement; and re-establish an attainable upwardly mobile pathway to a better life.

As for dependency:

Do you ever notice we never worry about the destruction of pensions and the resulting dependency class we've created among the elderly who survive on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicare Part D.

If our attempts to help the sick and poor among those not yet elderly has resulted in unacceptable dependency for them,
then the dependency among the elderly created by the destruction of pensions and union benefits, and lowered incomes, is 100 times worse.
