Amazing how peoples ignorance leads them the wrong way. I cannot say the Silverado is best in class because every truck has it's ups and downs. Fortunately, the Silverado HD has the most ups.

Some of these up's are:
Best in class frame
Best in class safety (along with Ford)
Best in class transmission
Best in class suspension

Although the Ford has more power at the crank, Chevy puts more to the ground thanks to it's much better transmission. So theoretically, the Chevy has best in class power as well.

Negatives of Chevy:
DEF is required

The benefits of a Dodge:
No DEF needed
Best in class engine reliability

Negatives of Dodge:
Low Power
Weak Transmission
Weaker Frame (better than ford, worse than chevy)
Not as much capability
Cheaper Build Quality

Benefits of Ford:
Best in Class features (Work Solutions, Sync)
Lots of Power at the crank
Best in class Safety (along with chevy)

Negatives of Ford:
Weak Transmission
Less Power goes to the wheels
Weak, Weak Frame
DEF is needed
Low engine reliability

As you can see, the Chevy really comes best in class in all of what matters to a trucker. Ford Work Solutions is great, and personally I think the MyLink phone app on Chevy trucks is better. These are all facts. If you don't believe me go look it up and tell me what you find.

Sorry pal, still opinions. What the hell does "best in class frame" mean anyway? You need to get out in the real world and stop basing everything you know on Chevy TV commercials.

No I'm pretty sure that all those are facts. Look it up all of them are 100% true. If everyone only knew how many sources I get my info from....
I get my info from personal experience, trusted websites ( pickuptrucks.com in this case, mostly), and manufactures claims.

Best in class frame is the fact that Chevy has a 60,000psi steel frame, Dodge only has 50,000psi, and Ford only has 36,000psi. It means Chevys frame is thicker steel, and it's fully boxed (unlike the Ford! The Ram has a fully boxed frame.

Best in class transmission is the fact that for 2011, the Allison transmission was designed to handle 840 pound feet of torque! Chryslers transmission was only designed for exactly 650 pounds of torque.

Best in class safety (along with Ford) means Chevy and Ford offer 6 standard airbags, the Ram only has 4, and that's all you can get. Also, EuroNAP tested the Ram 2500 on the pole test and it resulted in an "instant death" rating.

Oh yeah,

Best in class suspension means that Chevy has 3" wide rear multistage leaf springs, just like Dodge and Ford. But....even with all this criticism of the Chevys IFS, Chevy has a FGAWR of 6000 pounds! Dodge only has 5200 pound FGAWR. Ford also has 6000 pound FGAWR, so we know that the IFS on the chevy is perfectly capable, and it improves a better ride at the same time. Double Win for Chevy

Oh, by the way, I'm pretty sure facts are quite real world. Also, the fact that many people have hit 1,000,000 miles in a Chevy GAS, and one even hit 2 million! I have only heard one record of a 1 million mile dodge and it had a cummins, which last much longer than gas engines.

If you doubt my facts it just shows your own ignorance. Go look them up if you don't believe it, cause I guarantee you they are all 100% true.

Also, when Diesel Power and Pickuptrucks.com did a comparison of Ford vs Chevy, not only did Ford decline the test, but it lost by over 2 minutes! And the Ford supposedly has more power. So, in theoretical terms, the Chevy has best in class power as well.

2011 Motortrend Truck of the Year: Silverado HD

On that side note, Chevy also has the 2011 car of the year: the VOLT.

One time I read an article of a guy who made a car sized Radio Flyer and put a big block on it. He could legally drive it if he put the windshield on.

I'm talking about 3500 trucks. Dodge has 4 corner coils in 1500, and coils on the front in the 3500.

You're still watching too many Chevy commercials. You buy the truck that meets your needs. If you need to tow an aircraft carrier up a mountain, buy one that'll do it. If you need to throw the lawn mower in the bed to take it to the shop for a tuneup, that's what you buy. The rest is all PR fluff.

Well basically what I'm saying is that the Chevy can do best what consumers of the 3500 truck market want. Yes, very few will tow over 20,000 pounds. But, say for instance, I was towing 15,000 pounds, I could tow it quicker and more efficiently than a Dodge 3500 could.

Oh by the way the Cummins is a gas guzzler. It's reliable, it's quiet, but they use gas like people in Dubai!

Gosh, we sure got way off the thread about the ugly Prius. But thats OK. I think we exhausted that topic.
There are a lot more trucks sold than hybrid cars. Many people simply need the hauling capacity. With extended cabs and 4 door models they are also a family vehicle for many folks.

According to Automotive News, 2010 sales of the Prius in the US were down 2 percent compared with 2009. Not bad when you consider the recalls and negative publicity.
