Missles arent going to change the ground war, soldiers fighting other soldiers will. Assad i read has scored a success in homs. What scored a success? This is like a football match where every foray into one side is matched by a determined counter foray and attack. Both sides are grimly determined. There is no one like assad in my memory. Whetiher he loses or is killed, the will and resourcefulness of this person is amazing. He doesnt get rattled. You have here the trojan war in modern form. Lesser souls would have cracked.

He doesn't get "rattled" because there is a lot more to the story than we are privy to! He is getting a huge amount of assistance from Iran and Russia now.

Of course, insanity has no fear. No sane person would kill so many innocent men, women and children and place his own wife and children in such danger.

i am sorry for those who still support Assad till this Moment. He is like a man who is drowning. He is looking for anything around to go down with him. All these problems he is going to create for his Alawites people. He has tried many ways, instigating problems in Lebanon, In Gaza , Jordan, Now Iraq. All these is to make sure he gets sympathy from other Muslim Nations, and also to draw attention away from his country. The Truth 100% is Assad would never again be the President of Syria. He knows this truth also, but he wants to ruin Syria, and then go.
Bye the way, which people would accept him after all this destructions and Killings? He is trying to see if this war would involve other countries as to relief him and to attract sympathy. The westerners are wise enough. Assad is finished, after that comes IRAN. For Russia, they are just like a big bird whose feathers have been removed, it can fly but not like before. Russia can never be ,like USSR again. They would not have any place again in the Syrian Nation after this war, and more over in the Arab country. THE DOG THAT BITES DOES NOT BARK SO MUCH. Please advise Assad to hand over power to any man around him and run away with his life. Than die and risk the lives of his own tribal Alawites. Tunisian president and Mubarak were wisely advised. At least they are alive today. A SICK DOG IS BETTER THAN A DEAD LION. Russia would never advise their man. Look at DADDAFI?

Why are Ukrainians always so worried about Russia damaging its chances to the greatness? They do not share the same destiny any more. So may be Ukrainians could turn their attention to their own Country’s business.

I agree insanity has no fear or shame and we can look at the mass murderers who are controlling the american government and israel as a perfect example of this. These terrorist in suits and ties have killed more men women and children than any other group in history. These same terrorist are behind the war created in Libya and are also behind the current proxie war in Syria as the world can clearly see.The terrorist in Syria are paid and armed by the american government and israel and are trying to do the same thing they did in Libya.

The government in Syria kills only terrorist and this is well known. The american government and israel have a paid killing force of terrorist which they have brought to Syria and tasked with killing the citizens and other terrorist acts. The Syrian government and army is fighting against these terrorist as any other government would and should do.When people commit terrorist acts like those in Syria their country of origin matters not. They are called terrorist no matter where they are from.I might also add that it has been shown many times that the majority of terrorist in Syria are not from Syria but are paid killers from many different countries.

He is quite formidable! He has enough WMDs to take out his opposition ten times over, and the only thing he has seen is people telling him not to use them.

I dont know the situation really. Who does? A lot of strong men have 2nd thoughts about saving their necks quadaffi a pitiaful end. Saddam regained some measure of his dignity. The shah ran away. Sadat to his credit was brave. Assad crazy or not who knows the truth is brave. He knows his enemies will cut him, beat him, or shoot him a 1000 ways. He is the elected and legitimate leader of syria. The opposition is as blood mad as assad. Why couldnt the country wait to elect a new president? Which is scheduled for 2014. The real question is does assad have the support of the syrian people?

Because the insurgents (especially Islamic extremists) are not interested in diplomacy or in how many people die. They don't realize that this is not a war against one man, but against a government that is sectarian in nature. It would not surprise me in the least that Assad would take them all out with his chemical WMDs if they got close enough to him.

If I were there I would tell him to use EVERY weapon Syria has to defend the country and people from the terrorist. These weapons were made to defend the country and the country needs them now more than ever before.

Good point, but using these WMDs is like using a nuclear bomb to stop a riot! They will wipe out the rebels, and everyone else in the area.

That is why civilians and only civilians should be evacuated before it starts. This would also be a good way to get the terrorist to crawl out of the places they are hiding.

How many 1-13 year old terrorists do you think there are in Syria, do you really think they deserve to die because Assad is having a temper tantrum over loosing territory so he sends in the jets with the bombs and blows them up while they sleep? do you think the senior walking to turkey or Jordan deserved to be mortared by the helicopter gunships, did you really thing they are a threat to Assad?? Well??? Oh let me see, you think they are terrorists.
