Well, in Canada ehhh..have a look see at the ' David Eby (BCCLA) letter to the RCMP - regarding covert surveillance technology that allows authorities to turn off phones remotely, intercept communications -
The RCMP do not disclose electronic surveillance techniques or equipment on the primary grounds of concern for officer safety ? The days of your communications provider ensuring privacy are gone..Not needed !
And....to challenge such issues ..........ehhh!

Throw in recent rulings like the arrestee dna collection ruling the supreme court seems to be advocating a police state. They should be advocating citizens rights over government entities.

I've always felt it puzzling that alot of politicians and supreme court judges are overly pro law enforcement. Is it because they work with them or know them. Or do they feel safer as an individual because they ruled in law enforcements favor?-Is there way of saying protect me? Not you be 'me' as in own selfish interests.

But supreme court justices being like your typical bureaucratic politician need to maintain the status quo to maintain the status, career and pay.

Never forget that supreme court justices were appointed and approved by politicians which means there are political favors to pay off. And future deals to make.
