Romney's choice of the word gift was wrong; welfare, entitlements, or bribe would have been more appropriate.

At this rate, Christie risks becoming too reasonable for the Republican party.

Now all we have to do is sit back, and watch. Nothing much will get done since neither party has a large part of the House, or the Senate.

Hostess is an interesting study in Union helpfulnes. The company wanted to reduce salaries by 8%, and they could keep 92%. The Union decided to strike. Now the poor dumb people have no income at all. It seems to me something, 92%, would be better then nothing. They sure showed those Hostess people.

anything? The company has been reorganized more than once already with the workers taking the hit. The current owners aren't breadmakers and are not interested in running the business, they are vultures who have wanted from the start to strip off the chrome and move on. They never considered serious negotiation as it was never their intent to actually commit to the business in the long term.

economics lesson,... WHEN YOUR OUT FLOW OF MONEY IS GREATER THAN YOUR INFLOW you rack up debt, you borrow ,you grovel for cash,or you go broke,....,I.E. WHEN YOUR GOVERNMENTS OUTFLOW OF MONEY IS GREATER THAN the inflow ,you borrow from others {china},you grovel for cash, you buy your own debt,or you tax everyone that has a dollar tied to their a$$... MEANS TESTED OF COURSE....

.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Means_test.
Means tests, particularly sharp cut-offs, create high effective marginal tax rates and can serve to keep people in poverty, both by removing social support as the person tries to escape poverty, and by discouraging such attempts by high costs. For example, asset-based limits, such as requiring an individual to have little or no savings to qualify, not only discourage saving (because of the cost of being disqualified from such savings) but also require a person to become completely destitute to qualify, thus meaning that they do not have any much-needed savings when attempting to escape poverty.

At least the emploees would go to work Monday. This way they try for unemployment. I guess that is good enough for Union members. They can lay around all winter. Yeah, that is about their speed. Hostess will change their name, go to Mexico, and stay in business. All those retired people can do without, and the fired workers, their retirement is gone. The Union priced them right out of business. That is a great deal, for the Union. They lose nothing. They have plenty of others to coddle, and kiss. Too bad for the 18,500 who paid the Union for years, and have nothing to show for it.

you can work for minimum wages, with benefits less than welfare ,with a pension that wont pay for medicare .or you can try to get a fair shake.public unions have it, teachers unions have it +++,congress and the senate have it.and dont have to fight for a decent wage++.its almost a given increase.the country is not in debt 16 trillion +++++because of manufacturing or producing unions.its in debt because from welfare to the president ,THEY ALL DEPENT ON A GOVERNMENT PAYCHECK, EITHER DIRECTLY OR THROUGH THS 50 STATES OR THE 6500 COUNTIES. and the twinkies workers have to pay for all of it.hostess and other companys figh themself, gvt, the state the county each other and foreigh imports .

I listened to days of Republicans trying to figure out what went wrong. It seemed they think they should have done a better job of getting their message out.

Republicans didn't lose because they didn't say the right words. Voters understand very well what Republicans, as of right now, stand for.

A majority of voters rejected their message. Republicans didn't lose because of what they said; they lost because of what they ARE.

So the Democrats won, now what? They wasted the first term, did nothing, accomplished nothing, now what? More lies? No, I am investing in the company that makes the free cell phones handed out out to the poor from Obama. There are new phones handed out daily, and I want to be there. The more they breed, the more phones they will need. I wlll be rich rich I tell you.
