Romney, GOP downplay positive jobs report

There are 135 comments on the www.cbsnews.com story from Oct 5, 2012, titled Romney, GOP downplay positive jobs report. In it, www.cbsnews.com reports that:

For most of his presidency, the unemployment rate hung like a millstone around President Obama's neck.

But today's jobs figures, showing that unemployment last month fell below 8 percent for the first time in 43 months, marked a symbolic breakthrough. Nevertheless, the Republican Party today stressed that a 7.8 percent unemployment rate is hardly something to brag about.

And yet California will vote overwhelmingly for Obama, because they know the President has vitually no control over gas prices.

If you want to blame someone, blame the oil barons for price gouging. They can lower the price of gas whenever they want. They don't want to.

Just as Shrub & Clinton & Bush & Reagan had little to do with private sector job creation either.
The person in the oval office gets the credit or blame for the unemployment rate.
That's just the way it works.
Except in the case of Obama who has blamed GWB for all the losses.

Then why does Obama claim credit when something goes well, and blame Bush when it doesn't?

I remember when Rick Perry, at one time ahead of the GOP race, took a social security check after claiming it was a Ponzi scheme. HA!

As far as the economy is concerned, he has every right to.

Unemployment peaked after Obama had been in office two years. You can't blame the first year of his tenure. There was no legislation passed, or anything. Private sector growth has been up over the last two years.

So now that you have been proven wrong, what are you going to do? Here's a tip. Blame the current economic news on conspiracy. The man's keeping you down by playing with the figures!!!! Yeah, that's it!

Gas prices are up in California because two refineries are down and not refining gasoline. California has special blends of gasoline for California.

Rick Perry is just another dependent on government. Do not believe he has ever had a private sector job only been employed by the tax payers of Texas. Perry is another one of Romney 47% moochers dependent on government.

Michelle Bachman is another one of Romney 47 dependent on government moochers. Her income has come from tax payers about all her working life. Her income from Farm Subsidies, Clinic Medicare and Medicaid patients, IRS tax attorney, Member of Congress. Do not believe she has ever had a private sector job.

Are you saying that what happens in the first two years of a president's term are a result of the president before him?

"There was no legislation passed, or anything."

Why wasn't there? He had a dem controlled congress.

"Private sector growth has been up over the last two years."

Unemployment has been 8, or above for 43 straight months.

In a multidimensional universe, perhaps you can have everywhich way!
In one universe, Bernanke prints money and buy treasury bonds that lowers interest rate and in turn, that impacts the economy with inflation, devaluation, and a run in the bank. The government revenues are spent as directed by Congress and the President (through his government agencies).

In another universe, the economy is controlled by the private sector, in part by the Fed Reserve, and by the consumer (since we are a consuming economy with some manufacturing). The dynamics of those three entities are slightly influenced by the Government whose agencies (EPA, DOI, DOD, DOJ, DOE, etc.) can alter regulations and criteria and can invest to alter the course or give a new direction but the economy is controlled by the three entities mentione earlier.
.
So you pick which universee you live in. State's governments have huge influence on the economies of the states and we tend to blame the Federal for stuff our local governments do!

I told you this economy is affected by several variables that include the President too but the major effects come from the consumer, private sector, and the Fed Reserve! But because our financial system (and many commodities) is connected with other economies, international economies also affect our economy. At the local level, state and city governments have further impact on the local economy!
.
So the post is in a way partly correct!!!!
