Overlooked in the hubbub by the liberal media as well as the "conservative" churches which teach the absurdity of a rapture, an "end time" Antichrist, and a millennium (none of which are mentioned in the Bible) is the fact that the Greek prefix "anti" does not mean "against" as much as it means "instead of."

That is why Paul mentioned that the Antichrist is in the temple of God, pretending he is God, claiming salvation is through him (the Antichrist" alone), that "the mysteries of iniquity" were "already at work" in the church in his day and will continue until the end of time. John also mentioned that the Antichrist "sits on the seven hills."

Rome hasn't changed its teaching against justification by faith. Most Lutherans haven't either.

So Bachmann's former Lutheran church, as well as several other conservative churches, see a biblical basis for seeing the papacy as the Antichrist. Yet, as the article points out, such churches do not deny that a person can be saved in the Catholic church, or even that any individual pope could not be saved.

"Caholics are more likely to vote Democrat anyway"

.......... not necessarily true. In 2004 Catholics voted for GWB 52% vs. 47% for Kerry. In 2008 it was roughly reversed with 54% voting for Obama. I don't believe you will see that repeated in 2012- the economy and Obama's position on abortion will see to that. Catholics are fairly evenly divided and those divisions often go down to the parish level.; they are the very definition of "the big tent" They run the gamut from Hot Air's Ed Morrissey to the splinter faction, "The Chuch of the Holy Alinsky" headed up by Iman Pelosi.

Abortion was and will remain a hot button issue. In 2008 even in heavily Democratic districts McCain won the majority of the Catholic vote so long as the bishops and local clergy kept the abortion issue to the forefront.

Neither party can take the Catholic vote for granted and that perhaps is as it should be."

Catholics were closely tied to the Democratic party especially at the turn of the last century. The DNC was right alongside the Church in its teachings on social justice, care of and help for the poor, and its embrace of the recent immigrants.

Today there are more similarities between the catholics and the lutherans. Again both Churches stand on a radical gospel message and use Paul's teachings as foundational in their teachings in regards to faith and freedom.

what if the media KEPT reminding every one the catholic teaching there is no salvation outside of the catholic churh .. propably the only protestants that would then vote for roman catholics would be Lutherans ..

AND THERE WOULD NO LONGER BE ANY ROMAN CATHOLICS IN OFFICE .. Because there simply isnot enough lutherans to out vote all the protestants and jewish persons,,
