Because apparently he said it SO clearly that they had to re-spin it afterward once they found out the public wasn't buying the bullshit.

Come on. Ratzinger was conscripted into the Hitler Youth as membership was required by law. You can take the boy out of the NAZI, but can you take the NAZI out of the boy?

If Ratzi had made his confirmation at that time, and he probably had, he was supposed to be willing to literally give his life for the church. Did he? Nope. He joined the Hitler Youth and covered his a**.

So much for his "faith". He had a choice!
