As a person who as a child was compelled to attend a Romanist church and school but you fled Romanism as soon as I could I have been exposed to what the Popes and other church officials have declared.
I have also done Biblical study on my own and have attended several non-Roman Catholic churches since.

Since leaving Romanism I have learned that God does not want any imperfect human beings alive or dead to be worshiped. In fact, anyone or anything that takes any glory from God means imperfection is being glorified at the expense of perfection. And when Marionism or prayer and worship focused on other now-dead humans happens, then God is robbed.

I have no doubt that John Paul II suffered greatly from his ailments. But that man suffered a fraction... a tiny fraction of what Jesus the Christ did. This is not only because of the horrible suffering and execution He went through, but because He had to suffer the equivalent of an eternity of punishment for every person who accepted Him as their Lord and Savior.

John Paul II may have been an excellent role model for the suffering Christian, but he never performed any miracles and he never came close to what Christ did. Jesus the Christ rightly deserves ALL glory and honor without some of that being routed through a favorite Saint or Pope.

I don't think you understand the idea of the communion of saints. Catholic Christians are forbidden to wordhip anyone or anything but the Holy Trinity. benn that way way since before the Gospels were written down.
