The Vatican on Tuesday sought to clarify the pope's controversial comments about condoms and HIV, saying he by no means suggested condom use could be condoned as a means of avoiding pregnancy.

Well, they run a lot of good hospitals, maybe you should stop by the ER for a while.

I am trying to remember who said, "He don't play the game, he no make the rules." Perhaps it would be better if he stuck to business.

It's amazing that, for being "god's elect", he's apparently SO incompetent when he speaks about matters that are actually of some importance to the general public that his handlers have to backtrack and re-spin everything he's said, as opposed to when the particular topic is only of interest to his sycophants and, thus, never closely inspected...

Yes, I know all about it. The hospital did well. The bishop is a twit. Local news has been filled with that story for weeks. I wasn't suggesting that you go for an abortion, you just said you were sick and didn't imply that it was morning sickness. The moral is that St. Joseph's will take good care of you.

tthis is a Catholic country (80%) of population. Responsible Catholics just ignore Popes doctrines about condoms and pills. Minister of Public Health distributed 20 million condoms to avoid HIV and unwnated pregancy. OPUS DEI right wing cardinal archbishop of Lima used foul language (it is a habit in him) to attack and offend the Minister. But almost aveyone uses condoms when needed, except very poor and ignorant people. If the pope "clarified" his message on condoms is notwell known since on that occasion he spoke i German, a languge which for its many complexities can be mistranslated.

RE: Vatican clarifies pope's condom comments
.... The pope, just as you and I, is free in many countries to voice his opinions, and so are all others living or working in the Vatican. But nobody should think that his or their opinions are those of God or of Jesus.
..... In my view there should be mutual exclusiveness between the responsibilities of the religious and secular leaders of any country. Population numbers and/or birth rate control should be the responsibility of only one of these, not of both of them.
