"Pope Francis washed and kissed the feet of inmates—including women and Muslims—at a youth detention center, a twist to a traditional ceremony that emphasized his goal of placing Roman Catholicism's loftiest office at the service of the downtrodden."
I can see many people saying "I never know that criminals were down worthy of the title of ‘downtrodden’”. This is a PR disaster! Francis think about what you are doing! Help a beggar to show you care for the poor, not the few bad youths that cause my age group to bear the stigma of being “bad youths”.

I tend to agree.
No need for this sort of rubbish humbling PR show in this modern days!

I'd rather Pope Francis calling on Obama to stop bombing civilians with his drone toys.

If the pope did that he would have to remove his (fake) vail of apolitical-ness and get involved in everything, which the church can't afford to be.

I may have jumped the gun a bit this may be a PR master piece! The pope has said the things that all modern pope have on fundamentalism and how it has no place today. Now after the pope washed the feet the Catholic traditionalists have been having a flap about this saying the washing of the feet in the ceremony the pope was performing should only be reserved for men. http://www.cleveland.com/world/index.ssf/2013...
At this point it is the traditionalists that look like sexist fundamentalists. This maybe the popes way of taking out the trash...
