We are a nation of laws. And the law clearly states that the lead in any oil spill response is the company that leaks the oil. PERIOD. That's the law that came about as a consequence of the exxon-Valdeze spill. The Oil Pollution Act -- signed into law by President George H.W. Bush in August 1990. The Coast Guard has sole federal responsibility to call the shots but the company is the one with the technical expertise to stop and clean up oil spills.

Sadly, we learned the oil industry has been snookering us. Telling us the likely hood of a catastrophic oil spill was very unlikely for at least 20 years. The nation bought it.

There was no adequate stockpile of skimmers, absorbants ot even a comprehensive plan for such a large desaster. All in accordance with that 1990 law. and that law did not contemplate that a failed component located under 5200 ft of saltwater would be inaccessible by anything but robots. BIG GAME CHANGER !!!

So, we need a time out to check equipment and train personel. To re regulate to a state that gives more solid verifiable control over drilling equipment and safety equipment. Recent testimony gets worse and worse. Systems deactivated, ignored or non exixtant. Old law had to be broken by a government take over of the oil spill response to save the Gulf Coast flora and fauna.

Just like the auto and banking and medical insurance industries -- massive federal intervention was asked for and provided to stop a national tragedy from getting bigger. We found out that SMALL GOVERNMENT DOES NOT WORK IN CRISIS !! We need massive federal government regulation, enforcement and oversight to save ourselves from outr own business leaders. And the taxs to pay for it.

These emergencies have show that small TEA Party government will not work. It's an invitation to criminal and thugs to dismantle and steal all of our nations industries and wealth.

Does this really surprise anyone? Virtually everything that comes out of the Oh'bama Admistration is a lie...Joe Wilson was right when yelled "You Lie" to Oh'bama...He had the guts to say what we already knew...

They throw a lot of nice expensive parties for Mexican presidents and others they deem celebrity or Important.

They don't screw up vacations to Spain or to Martha's Vineyard.

Obama doesn't screw up his Tee Times.
