The BP Deepwater Horizon Gulf oil spill is turning out to be one of, if not the, greatest ecological disasters of all time. Exxon Valdez, Chernobyl and Three Mile Island may end up looking like minor incidents compared to this disaster. Since April 20th oil and toxic elements have been gushing into the Gulf of Mexico. While no one expected an instant solution they did expect a rapid response and a lot of concern from their government.

Many were perplexed by President Obama’s initial lack of response. Even after his visit weeks after the accident there were signals pointing to a lack of concern. People expected focused task forces, innovative ideas for a solution and a flood of updates –which never came. Instead, the people of the United States saw their president attend fundraisers, host White House parties with pop stars, take a trip to Chicago and play Golf,-what gives?

The Tiawanese "A Whale" skimmer, billed as the world's largest oil skimming vessel, anchored now on the Mississippi River in Boothville, La., Wednesday, June 30, 2010. The ship is the length of 3 1/2 football fields and 10 stories high, and is designed to collect up to 500,000 barrels of oily water a day through 12 vents on either side of its bow.

The U.S. Federal Government kept it away because it didn't care for the ship's owners making free use of the captured crude.

This ship (and others like it) should have been on the Gulf Blowout area within DAYS (at the latest)--instead the public got delay after delay BS and lots and lots of Corexit damage multiplier!
