Born in S Leandro, we moved to Indianapolis and live in a suberb calles Geist; much like The Oakland hill area, removed from the core city and often neglected by Indy police. For decades this community has cntracted with a private police service, a service manned by real armed patrolmen, and it has enjoyed one of the safest environments for decades.
Increased police presence can do a lot to reduce the crime level and is well worth the extra cost. Community members have ay times complained about the cost but overall the safety quotient delivered by this protection has been well received.
