I made a very respectable catch. any how when you use words like deserve ect it has no validity. I my opinion there isnt much difference between deserve and fair share. If a dog is tresspassing and the land owner believes its about to? then it can be legally destroyed. Heck in Texas you can legally kill human tresspassers. to keep others from opening your gate you could do like me and put a padlock on it. I will continue to do what I can legally.

I do NOT wish harm to you, nor do I look forward to your demise, Churm. What a silly thing to say. We had a trespasser on our land. He was from AZ and claimed to be hunting, but didn't know Michigan laws. He still knew it wasn't his land. Either way, we had no interest in killing him. Like I said, death is the ultimate penalty I think should be reserved only for most evil among us. I don't place lost hunters, dogs, or raccoons in that category.

Now you have the grandchild opening the gate and asked what would have happened then. What would have happened if you were at work. You would go to work leaving a 4 year old home alone? Regardless, still your responsibility to keep your dog under control. Your dog, your gate, your responsibility.

If your dog comes onto my property I’ll take whatever action I deem necessary. If your dog is aggressive and on my property it will be shot. I don’t care who left the gate open, the dog will die.

I once had squirrels chew a hole in my roof and get into my attic. I made sure all of them were out and fixed my roof. They haven't tried getting back in...yet...that I know of. But I don't advocate going into the wild and killing all squirrels either just because they do damage, or have the ability to do damage.

I had a similar problem with squirrels and decided to handle it as a rodent problem. Not my fault the squirrels ate the “food” I put out for mice. I’ve not seen a squirrel in months.

I’ve not advocated for the elimination of any species. As for humans, do come on my property and be destructive. I will confront a human under those circumstance and will confront them. If they become aggressive toward me I’ll “fear for my life” and shoot them as well. Like it or not, the law would be on my side.

People such as yourself make me ill. You think simply because someone leaves your gate open I should tolerate your dog being on my property to do whatever your dog might do. Recently a dog came on my property. In fact, it came inside my garage while I was in the garage. Seemed friendly enough, it didn’t get shot.
