Who can afford health insurance after paying a MONSTEROUS amount, just for housing?

Add to that state & federal income taxes, real estate taxes, sale taxes, liquor taxes, cigarette taxes.

Then there's the cable bill, the internet bill, the cellphone bill (and its associated taxes), the land line (and its associated taxes), heating/cooking gas & electricity.

And don't forget the car payments and car insurance and homeowners/renters insurance. AND the GAS and maintenance of the vehicle, plus city sticker, state license plate, state license ID fee.

And food and clothing and entertainment.

And maybe a little vacation now and then.

And this doesn't even include the COST OF HAVING CHILDREN to feed and clothe and etc. etc. etc.

It is no wonder there isn't much to go around for health care.

The reason many Americans are struggling to pay medical bills other than the economy is that the health care providers have exploited a third party reimbursement system to the max for decades with exhorbitant pricing/fees, poor disclosure and unholy alliances with the health insurance industry. The health insurance has done the same except with a third party paying their premiums ie employers/businesses.

The current system which relies on what should be an elective or voluntary form of payment-insurance has created & perpetuated the perception that third party reimbursement is the only way THEIR desired fees/bills can be paid. They have created generation of health care paid by insurance junkies wether it be the patient or provider.

All those involved or reliant on the current health care system need to go through third party reimbursement withdrawl. They should go to pricing and expectation rehab.
