On one big-ticket item, Romney and House Republicans already have parted company.
Both criticize Obama and Democrats for cutting Medicare by $500 billion over the next decade as part of the health care law.
But Romney's aides say he wants to restore the money to Medicare, while the budget that the Republicans pushed through the House would instead put the money toward deficit reduction.
that's very interesting, and if the supreme court rules against Obamacare, then Romney should publicly state his intention to restore that money to medicare.
it could secure (at least in part) the senior vote for him.

The real issue is about funding the big money programs of the federal government.
First, the amount of the budget that goes into defense spending is ridiculous. Deficit reduction begins with spending reduction. Why does this country need to spend more money than the next 10 or more countries combined?
The reality is that we'd have a better economy if we stop funding automated tech defense in favor of "boots on the ground" strategy. It's less popular. Ir requires us to solve more diplomatic problems diplomatically instead of treating the sky as our own domain but there you go. More people employed. More people getting a higher education.
Second, the big lie is about socialized medicine. We rank #37 in the world for our healthcare system according to the World Health Organization. We pay into our system more than ANY country in the world.
DENIAL!!!!! PURE, LUNATIC DENIAL!!
There is no reason why we can't nationalize our healthcare system to provide minimum quality medicine, eliminate layers of unneeded middlemen, and collectively negotiate with the private sector for competitive pricing on pharmaceuticals and other healthcare tools. There's no reason why the private sector can't provide treatments not supported by a nationalized system.
The current system of making insurance compulsory does nothing but postpone the problem onto the backs of young people who statistically don't need the insurance and who don't really have the money anyway. They are getting paid disproportionally low salaries ANYWAY, because the disproportionally large older population wants control of their retirement plans.
Animals fighting for table scraps.
