Get on your knees 20-somethings and thank the all knowing, all merciful lord marshal b. h. obama for having obamacare. Just don't miss any mandated payments otherwise it's off to the gulag for mom and dad. It's an obamanation.

Some might say being able to cover children until age 26 is a blessing. In some respects it is. BUT that provision is a gateway drug for addicting young adults to an insurance based health care system. But many youngs will wind up dropping that coverage and when they re enter the US health care system they will be in for sticker shock creating more hardship.

The insurance companies loves this provision as well because for the most part young adults are a lower risk overall so they'll wind up collecting premiums for nothing.

The whole problem is not mandating who will pay but rather what and how much is paid. A start would be full pricing disclosure legislation BEFORE entering the vortex of a US health care establishment. The ethics and billing practices of these medical establishment billing offices also need regulation to stop the off book bartering that goes on between the patient, insurance and/or service providers.

It's a get away with ever you can system right now. Young adults usually don't have enough income or experience to play this vicious game.

The twenty somethings must realize the actual cost of health care.

Automatically covering many twenty somethings under Obama Care completes the indoctrination of a somebody else is paying for it system of health care. Many twenty somethings are already used to having their insurance covered and/or paid for by their parents/policy. 26 years of indoctrination will be tough to break. Health Care will be sticker SHOCK to most 27 year olds that try to get health care on their own.

But the second problem with 20 somethings being covered by their parents or someone else is that I've seen twenty somethings frown upon and/or look down at self pay/under/uninsured adult patients. They talk about the billing dollars like it's nothing. They have no concept. They don't realize insurance based programs fester inflated fees. They also don't realize that insurance right now is an optional voluntary form payment voluntarily preferred by patients, practices, hospitals & doctors.

AGAIN, the thinking is wrong. It's what, why and how much is being paid and NOT WHO will pay.
