So what are you going to do about it, use your bushmaster on yourself, maybe after shooting up a VA hospital (that is were the brainwashing is done)? Oh yes, watch out for drones following you.

And we'll go right back to being 18th century surfs, unarmed, unable to defend ourselves, and at the mercy of the authorities and the criminals who are all still armed. Neither of which give a damn about the safety and well being of the blue-collar Joe caught in the middle.

Really? It wasn't so long ago that your neighbors were being hauled off the concentration camps to be gassed. Maybe if they had been able to defend themselves they would have survived. Oh wait! That's right! The German authorities of the time were firm believers in gun control and confiscation. So your neighbors COULDN'T defend themselves. Don't even think that it can't happen again.

There is ONLY ONE reason a government wants to disarm its law abiding population..........so that they can easily be controlled and subjugated.

There's an old saying that applies here;

"Just because I'm paranoid doesn't meant they're not following me!"

In the amoral atmosphere of this terrorist filled world we live in, a mild dose of paranoia is a healthy thing.

You do not seriously think we would have a safer world when everybody is armed.
This is exactly the twist in your brain.

I know, right? Can you imagine a world like this:
Everyone has a gun, or as many as they want to own, as time goes along, neighbors begin feuding over who knows what...a gun goes off, suddenly everyone locks & loads, shots will be fired, bullets flying everywhere, and still innocent people will die. "But if only someone had a gun..."

First of all, there is no such thing as a "safe world" and there never will be. There will always be those who will try to achieve their goals by violence. There is NO WAY to prevent bad guys from having weapons. They don't abide by the law in any other respect, what makes you think they will abide by gun laws? The bad guys will ALWAYS find weapons. From the mass shooters to the stick-up artist, they ALL depend on their victims BEING UNARMED. The police don't and can't protect you. Their job is to catch the criminals AFTER they have harmed you. In answer to your question, the world is NOT a safe place whether you're armed or not but if you're armed you're better equipped to deal with it and survive. Those are the facts, my friend.

Last time I checked the US hasn't wiped out 6 million people in a matter of two or three years. The violence is a product of PEOPLE not the tools they use. The only thing you will accomplish by taking away all guns (that's not even physically possible) is forcing the bad guys to find new and more destructive tools.......like truck bombs etc. The pathological mind will find a means to its end and the only thing normal sane people can do is be prepared to defend themselves when the time comes......and it will come whether guns are legal or not. I'm really sorry to burst your utopian bubble but the bad guys will ALWAYS be ther and THEY will always be armed.
I've had guns since I was a child and I have never shot a neighbor, robbed a store, threatened anyone, or accidentally discharged a weapon. There are literally MILLIONS of law abiding gun owners in this country who have been in possession of guns all of their lives and never committed any kind of crime. That same group of law abiding gun owners has also been less victimized than those who can't defend themselves. Just the facts, my friend.

How can the world possibly be "safer" if you are deprived of any means to defend yourself. You're not making any sense here.

First condolences to the families killed and speedy recovery to the survivors.

Questions

Multi paged typed suicide note/manifesto?

A 62 year old man who supposedly hadn't committed a crime or trouble with the law since 1980?

Just happens to committ a crime with the same kind of rifle the government wants to ban? And had 3 other ILLEGAL guns along with the rifle?

I heard reports he set a car on fire but 5 houses wind up burning down?-what are the weapons of mass destruction again? Other evidence burnt along with his sister?

An ex con/violent ex felon would be an ideal candidate for physcotropic drugs? Was he ever medicated?

Was this guy a veteran?

I do agree that during the holidays the mental state of alot of people isn't great. Still questions to be answered.

Police and local first responders should be at least a little more aware if not armed. Especially if the scene or scnerios is unusual if for no other reason isn't that a terrorist tactic to go after the first responders after a bombing/attack?

I'd say have the police survey a fire scene since they are frequently there or first on scene.
