Read the first 4 words. They have great bearing and meaning on all the words that follow in that statement. There is a very good reason they appear first and foremost in the statement.
If that were the case, only the military and law enforcement agencies would have firearms.

It's coming.
If "It's" a bunch of regulations and laws regarding guns that will do nothing to prevent future mass shootings, then yeah, you're probably right.

Too bad the same amount of time and money isn't being spent on dealing with mental illness. Can't do that, though. Might violate some sick f**k's rights, or even worse, hurt their feelings.

Guns don't kill people they are inanimate objects.
Take away the guns and people will still kill people. Timothy McVeigh did not use a gun. He used fertilizer, killed 168 people and injured over 800 in Oklahoma.

Until you know what went on behind beclosed doors between the mother and son, you will never know the real story. A mother stores, water, food and guns and never allowed anyone in her house is very strange.
I believe she had a mental disorder which she never revealed. A sane person would never show a man with a mental disorder how to shoot a gun and on top of that watch him go to the bathroom.

How about Waco? 76 killed, 25 of them children. Fire, of questionable origin.

quick question
We can go look up how many hand gun deaths there have been this year.
Does anyone have the number of death that may have been prevented by the timely
use of a legally owned gun?
Good luck finding those numbers.
Even "mass" shootings (4 or more killed) is a little tricky to find.
What's even harder to calculate is how many mass shootings have been stopped by legally owned, legally carried weapons.
One was stopped just this week by an off duty deputy, in Texas, I believe.
The recent mall shooter in Oregon was stopped by someone who didn't know the mall was a "no gun zone" and carried his weapon with him. When the shooter, who had already killed two, paused to reload, the armed citizen pointed his gun at the shooter. The shooter shot himself.
Winnemucca, Nevada, 2008. A man opens fire in a crowded restaurant. The restaurant owner, a permit holder, shoots the gunman dead. The gunman had killed 2.
Appalachian School of Law, 2002. A gunman killed the dean, a professor, then began shooting students. As he paused to reload, two armed students pointed their weapons at him, allowing a third student to tackle him. The shooter killed 3.
Pearl High School, Mississippi 1997. An assistant principle, with a gun he lawfully kept in his car, stops a student who was shooting at fellow students. 2 dead (I'm not sure about the gunman in this one).
No one will ever know how many more people would have perished in any of these incidents, because the shooters were stopped. The only ones we know the counts on are those who weren't stopped...with the exception of Jared Loughner, who was tackled by a woman when she saw him pause to reload. Another citizen jumped in and they were able to wrest the loaded clip that he had in his pocket away from him.

If you google cdc.gov gun homicides , oh hell let me do that for you.

you are advocating violence? What a loser. Yes she should go to jail but murder her? Why don't you do it then sparky? Like all liberals you call for murder. That is typical liberalism. Funny thing is I bet this woman voted for obammy.

I never doubted that there were many incidents where there was a heroic intervention on the part of a citizen.

Would a ban on military style guns and large magazines have thwarted these heroes?

Do, even the highest estimate of these events and lifes saved, equal the hand gun murder rate in a mid sized city like Buffalo.

If the answers to these questions is no.
Whats the argument against?
