The Salafi radical and fanatic Mozlems of Egypt are celebrating for nothing because their effort to enslave women and girls and to persecute Christians according to their primitive Saudi desert tribes' culture of 1300 years ago will fail by the Egyptian people that will defeat the Salafi's lies and deceit. Bad news The Egyptian people are in dark tunnel that will bring then to the 7th century reactionary culture of the Shariya laws that will deny basic human right to more than 42 million Egyptian women that will become second degree humans. Obama who pushed Mubarak from power by claiming his love to 'democracy' and hatred to dictators was misleading the Egyptian people and was actually pushing Egypt back 1300 years to the darkest days for Eight million Christians, Jews and minorities that will be persecuted and disappeared soon from Egypt. Did the naive and ignorance American people that were promised democracy by Hillary and Obama realized that Obama's agenda was to push the pro-Iranian Mozlem Brothers and Shariya laws to power in Egypt and trashing the peace treaty with Israel? Did the blind American people know that Obama supports new regime that supports Hamas and al Qaida terrorists against Israel?

As a muslim woman married to an Egyptian muslim man, we both pray that the salafists bid for the presidency is overturned. Worst case scenario, the man has already proven himself a liar, best case scenario, he had no idea what nationality his mother chose. He is an embarrassment to Islam.

Not odd. Through my husband I know quite a few Egyptians who either don't take the bid seriously or are biting their nails in anticipation of a disaster. The brotherhood is preferable to the salafists in this case. The salafists will turn a relatively liberal Egypt into a new Saudi Arabia. This is not desired by the Egyptian poeple. I say vote for the chick candidate....:P

Savage my arse and you know better by now.:P

If I was Egyptian, I'd vote for the woman. My husband and his whole family are voting though only one sister and brother are actually in Egypt still. The other is in Paris and the other in Dubai. They follow the votes seriously...... They love Egypt. They ARE educated, maybe that makes the difference. My sis in-law in Paris was dreading the Muslim brotherhood, now is frantic over the possibility of the salafists. Her and I agree on a lot of things politically and this is one of them. My husband was okay about the brotherhood, but also is leery of salafist regime. He says that if the salafists get in, people will be asking why they deposed Mubarak in the first place. Out with the old regime and in with the new, huh?

and the Egyptians are sick of being held hostage by such a sycophantic threat. One of the platforms the salafists are using is that if every Egyptian gave the equivalent of $4.00 to the government as a donation, it would end the need for U.S. aid. At 21 million living in Cairo alone, the U.S. would be proved redundant. It's attitudes like yours, Faith, that lend to the dislike of Americans in general. Egyptians don't need your aid. It comes with too heavy a pricetag. Like sacrificing their own ideals and playing shoeshine boy to American agendas. On this, only this, I agree with the rightist movement, but also keep in mind that it's because the Americans throw that threat around all too often. Someone needs to call their bluff. It's about time.

It's not so much a threat as it is a desire. Anyhow, the Egyptians don't need American help sacrificing their "ideals". They've been doing that since long before America was even invented.

The Egyptians are a proud people Faith. They've been doing a LOT of things since before America was a gleam in the postman's eye.

I know they peaked about 5000 years ago. It has been all downhill since then...especially since islam was invented.
