Climate change?

No such thing. You can take the word of very well
paid coal company scientists for that.

After the low Arctic sea ice of September 2012, I had thought, towards the end of that year, the sea ice would NOT get so low in 2013.

A TV series is being aired showing jet skiiers trying to go through the Northwest Passage in 2013, but they had to be rescued by the Coast Guard due to too much sea ice. The northern route that had been open in 2012, was closed this year in 2013. Being on jet skis, they may have tried the southern route that Roald Amundsen navigated. But even that route was weathered & iced, & they finally had to call for rescue.

This last week's episode showed them passing through the Bering Strait & proceeding towards Pt. Barrows. The landscapes & Arctic waters are very interesting, as they encountered one storm & had to wait it out, at one of their fueling stations. The tiny Inuit communities with happy children, came out to talk & celebrate with the adventurers.
