Unlike western countries,China doesn't mix business with politics. China doesn't try to depose governments or change political systems in the countries that they loan money to and do business with. And this makes their money and business more welcome than those of western countries.

How well people cooperate with each other depends a lot on mutual trust. And this is something China has more of with poor developing countries than the Western countries have.

China will likely succeed where western businesses would've failed, because they will get better cooperation from the people they do business with. That's why the Chinese aren't afraid to take risks. Their risks are smaller than those of western countries, because they have more goodwill among the people they do business with.
