what is he saying? that he wants to submit to china then? become china's servant?

if the relationship with china is not working... if you are hurting your own people because of whatever relationship you have with somebody, you MUST change it.

the outsourcing of jobs, and factories is hurting america.

CHANGE IT.

who do you think will win?

america will, genius.

let me give you a history lesson, colorado chick....

in the last century, almost every country in the world at least one time refused to honor debts that they held with the usa. they did so by experiencing a regime change. or just plain refused to honor their debt with us.

almost every country in the world did this to us in the last century.

what did we do in response? pretty much nothing.

and guess what? we are probably still trading with them today.

did you know that mainland china didn't honor their debts with the usa in the last century?

right after the mao took over the country from the last emperor. they changed the currency and by doing so didn't honor any claims connected with the old currency.

the same thing happened after we spent all this money on the marshall plan. we invested over a billion dollars into all these countries overseas to rebuild them after world war 2. and did we get any of that money returned to us? pretty much zilch.

if we stopped trading with china tomorrow, china would not be able to do anything to us other than scream.

..that is why free/fair trade agreements don't work. there are no rules that can be enforced. absolutely none. if some country decided to cheat, they can do so with impugnity.

globalization only works if there are no wars. unlimited resources. and everybody treats each other with fairness.

reality.

We are still free to choose what we want to buy but ofr course it would be more effective if the government impose some kind of measure to regulate the flow or dumping of products from other countriesd. Oh well.

why does it have to be a trade war...........i have a novel idea.....why don't we get obama out of declaring wars and allow romney to get this country to compete with the world in production and trade. just like we have in the past.......before obama.

"Of the $1 billion in clean-energy stimulus money spent since the beginning of September,$850 million has gone to foreign wind companies. It doesn’t take a bunch of experts at a hastily planned “jobs summit” to discover this isn’t the way to bolster employment in America."

interesting. someone who debates intelligently without insults.

"submit to american imperialism".?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_imperia...

you know... in the last century, america invented most of the technology that our world currently takes for granted.

the airplane, the car, the microcircuit, the internet, the computer, the light bulb, the telephone, etc..

why use a word like "imperialism" to describe this positive american influence? as I see it, imperialism conveys the wrong meaning.

american imperialism? it should read more like american ingenuity at work.

the word imperialism implies evil, colonization.. as I see it, wrong word to use.

in regards to china... china should do what is best for their country. every country should do what is best for their country. america is not following this commonsense approach to trade.

if trade is not benefiting us, then, we should change the terms. otherwise, it doesn't make sense to continue.

commonsense.

america should not outsource so many jobs. nor build all our factories overseas. again, commonsense.

if our politicians are not using commonsense in their trade dealings with other countries, they should be fired.

commonsense.
