It's odd to read something like this on a Thai web page, after all, they have plenty of staff who would be happy to remove toothpicks from plates.
I used to always put toothpicks in an ashtray, but with the smoking ban, that's no longer possible, so I've gone back to carrying my antique, retractable silver toothpick.
