I don't know which is more tragic. The after effects from the cyclone, or the purposeful delay by their government to accept aid.

And folks thought Katrina was bad.

America needs to take care of its citizens, now. Stop worrying about a country (or countries), that don't want our assistance.
Take care of business in our own backyard; no one else will be offering us aid when our depression hits.

Gas prices will rise because of this. I'm thinking that $5.00 per gallon might cover this.

I will also send over billions of dollars that we do not have to a country that is no bigger than Delaware. Besides, no one in the USA needs assistance with anything.

Their accepting aid, just not from the USA! Seven, and 1/2 half years of Bush not only has our economy in shambles, but the rest of the world hates us...

At the time I wrote that comment, they weren't acceptin' any aid from any major country.

As for Bushyboy, the world didn't like the US long before Bushyboy took office. As for the economy, it's been on a downward spiral since the alleged oil crisi of '73.

As much as folks would like to blame Bushyboy, he isn't responsible for the oil futures market, of which has played a major role in the recent decline.

You must have been born in 2001, cause the economy was the best in my life during the 90's under Clinton. I've never seen a president so hated overseas as Bush! I suspect you voted for him!

Uh, excuse me, Mr. Mad, but if their little tinhorn dictatorship doesn't want aid from us -- then F'em. It's THEIR fault that aid won't get through to their citizens -- NOT OURS. Lay the blame where it deserves to be placed you fricking little communist.

If we DID offer aid, and they accepted it, it probably wouldn't be "enough" aid, in the eyes of you and every other liberal POS that lies around in this country, soaking up all the priviledges while criticizing its every move. I have nothing scorn for people like you.

Hey Einstein, where in the context of my writings did you read that it was the USA's fault in refusing aid? Don't you think it's assuming to say how much aid I would feel is enough? Really, soaking up priviledges...I worked my way through college, and retired at 48! Two things I'm sure you've never done! Go read your bible...

It was not a tidal wave. the news people are jerks. Tidal waves come from undersea earthquakes. this was storm surge. as to the Burmese, let them rot.

Yeah,I know. Watching the horror show of the evening news is pretty flacid isn't it? same shit different day. Especially when there so much to see at home. Now just what might happen if we took those "generous donations from the american people" and used the money here?
