Sharapova booed and booted

Full story: TwinCities.com

Maria Sharapova did not go quietly. No, her departure from the French Open was filled with sound and fury - her stroke-accompanying shrieks, her self-loathing shouts between points and the spectators' hearty ...

Why did the crowd boo her? What did she do wrong? She's playing her heart out in every shot she makes.

She does but her incessant screams make the match hard to watch. In the stands, the screeches would drive patrons crazy. She really needs to get a handle on that.

Personally, the screams do not affect me that much. But you know what does ? Her ritual of preparing her serve - the coming of her hair behind her ears,(first the right ear, then her left ear), then she stares down her opponent, then she bounces the ball 3 times before she actually serve. She does it every time.. sheesh!! After this elaborate preparation, it is a fault serve. Then she goes through the whole ritual preparing for her 2nd serve. I nearly fell asleep once when watching her play...

Sorry, but she is not ain't my kind of a pro tennis player.

Hmmm...let's see...why did the crowd boo her?
(1) She screamed "Kick her f***ing a**!" about her opponent (you could see it clearly on TV)
(2) She cursed the French crowd when they were doing the wave (again, could see it on TV), and
(3) She screamed at the equivalent level of a hard metal concert on almost every point (as measured at Wimbledon)
(4) She arrogantly summoned the chair umpire to look at a ball AFTER she played it
Any more questions, TennisAna?

Ok- Maria got outplayed and yes, did not exactly handle herself with grace in defeat. She is only 21. Yes, there are others like Ana Ivanovic who show perhaps more grace at the same age. We don't all grow up in the same way at the same time. No excuses for Maria's behavior. But, I imagine many of us who are older did and said stupid, immature, and non-gracious things in our lives at 21. She will learn.

Why do these woman (and some men) have to sound like they are giving birth on every shot? I can't be in the same room when my wife is watching.

Sharapova's grunting is sexy as heck! I'd love to see her and David Robinson or Kobe Bryant (if they were single) get romantic!

At least she wins, unlike Kournikova, who finally threw in the towel and admitted she was just a pretty face after all.

Players are judged for their "on court play and out of court behaviour" ..... wait, hang on a minute. Should it be that "players are judged for their on court behaviour and out of court play ?". LOL !

So what is sharapova's overall score on both counts ? Not very high, i guess...

Well, you won't see Maria win another tourney, she had her 15 minutes of fame and now the candle is going out. I've seen it a thousand times happen to celebrities in every field of endeavor. She accomplished it all, why do it anymore? Once you reach your goals you move on to the next thing in life. It's Anna Ivanovics turn now. Maria should get married and pop out 4 puppies. LOL
