Why is this showing up under "Headline News"? It's sports, for cripe's sakes. Put it under the "SPORTS" column. It isn't important and that's where it belongs!

I tend to agree. But isn't this true of all sport, and how elevated it gets beyond the issues our world faces. I think the same is true of celebrity news and sensationalism. But it makes money - as they say, "Follow the money".

All that said, I do enjoy tennis, and happy for Roger. Has he now joined the ranks of Sampress, Borg, and Conners?

I do believe too much has been given in the way of sports-----why does mankind need to display himself unto other peoples??? Yet if one weighted 432 lbs. and eating extra large bag of potatoe chips -- laying on couch -- shouting--I'll make that point --- I guess all need to live a fantasy, mostly in America.

Federer rules tennis. The 'Bear' used to rule golf, post Arnie. Now it is Tiger. Pele used to be the ne plus ultra in soccer.
But regardless of the venue, sports heros seem to rule and captivate peoples' imagination.
Bizarre!
But another coup for media and a dumbed down populace.
