It's great to see Free Software, and particularly GNU/Linux finally get some recognition. I use Ubuntu Linux ( www.ubuntu.com ) exclusively on my computers at home, and I can do everything I need and more.

You can download the live CD at www.ubuntu.com , or get them to send you a free one if you have trouble burning it for yourself. There are Linux User Groups available in Los Angeles,( www.lilax.net , www.lalugs.org ), where users can get help and enjoy the company of others.

I put the live CD in my grandmother's computer (she's 85). Once I showed her how to get to the Internet and set up her email, she was able to use it easily.
