In 2010, Johnson&Johnson issued a worldwide recall of two hip replacement devices (manufactured by its subsidiary DePuy Orthopaedics) because of hip replacement problems. These devices are the ASR XL Acetabular System and the ASR Hip Resurfacing System. The company cited early failure of the devices, resulting in approximately one out of eight patients’ requiring a “revision surgery." This surgery is often more difficult and painful than the original hip replacement procedure. The website https://sites.google.com/site/depuyhipreplace... provides a wide-ranging information on this.

Even if this Modular Dual Mobility Hip is advertised to be safer than metal-on-metal hip replacement, I hope the FDA will do a thorough examination of this hip implant because it may have similar effects with the metal hip implant. Currently, a lot of lawsuits have been filed against Johnson & Johnson, the parent company of DePuy Orthopaedics, because of their defective hip implant. In light with this topic, you may visit http://www.depuypinnaclelawsuit.com for more input.

This is truly great news to thousands of people afflicted with avascular necrosis which happens to be a main reason for hip replacement. Getting their conditions treated without surgery may spare them from risks of getting complications as a result failures of hip implants such as the DePuy ASR hip implants. Complications have been reported to be very severe and has affected thousands of people. More on ths in DePuy Settlement Information Center.
