This morning saw the spectacular failure of an unmanned rocket in Russia. A massive Proton-M rocket carrying three Russian navigation satellites veered off course shortly after liftoff.

The video feed had a significant problem but saw it on Sky news earlier.

Did definitely look like an engine failure but the 3 main boosters were still on @ the time of the crash.

In the Sky news film clip the main engine in the mid,(between the boosters) was trailing black smoke immediately before impact...(lots of black smoke after impact).

Was better than a Nasa Titan failure of a few years ago when the "star pot" went off a mite early. Was not good for the car insurance premiums of the launch staff that one.
