OpenSolaris Appears Missing from Oracle-Sun Party
January 27, 2010, 03:31 PM - There is a lot of news coming out of Silicon Valley today, as Oracle and Sun host a five-hour marathon briefing on just how Oracle's approved acquisition of Sun will effect both companies' present and future customers.

Is there a way to convince the OpenSolaris OS to detect the rest of the computer outside of the Solaris's own installed files and folders? It takes longer than the best Windows-OS to install opensolaris. Another several hours, and you might be able to convince it to connect to the internet. But all the time it lives in its own little OpenSolaris bubble, unable to see anything outside of its own installed files and folders. I realize that most people probably don't care to see the rest of their computer's files and folders and disks, but if you wanted to see what else is on your computer, outside of the immediate folders that were installed by OpenSolaris, is that possible?
