Anybody facing problem with error saying something wrong with "filesyscheck.cfg"? If u do, check all the .IWD file in "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\main". If I'm not mistaken the sizes are 0 kB.
So u have to replace them with same (.IWD) file. U can get it from your main downloaded COD4 .rar.
I looked in my main folder in vista 64bit and noticed that 2 of the files missmatched in size, copy'ed those 2 files from my cod4 disc into the main folder on my com.. And boom, the game worked...

No the card is too old. Since it is a DX9 card
the game will most likely run but will be too slow
or choppy to play.

I had the same problem with the game not starting. Then one time it asked if I would like to start in safe mode. This got it going, but the game crashes at the same point each time (in training when you go outside to meet the seargent.) I am tinkering to lower the resolution and graphics to find something that works.
Maybe there is a way to start the game in safe mode without waiting for the prompt (it took about 4 tries to launch the game.)

Hey SkLo!
Thanks for that fix! Works great now. My game crashed after the intro level though. Not sure why, but at least the game works.

Would the game still lag extremely badly if I had the exact minimum requirements and if the game was put on low graphics settings? Some one please answer me cuz at the moment I am currently planning to upgrade my comp's hardware to reach the minimum specs for this game and I want to know if its worth it or if its just going to be a waste of time.

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Aquarius

The atmosphere in the office is stressful. Learn to divide time in a planned and phased manner. Beware of starting a lot of new things but not having the time to finish any of them. Mental overload will burn your busy and chaotic schedules and health problems may crop up all of a sudden. If you party with friends this evening, don't make it too late.
