OK.. Here's the dilemma. I am anti-mac/ipod. I agree they are AWESOME and can do everything. I've done plenty of research on this and still can't decide. There are so many choices out there I feel I may be missing some. Is there a PMP out there that can combine Archos and IPOD? Below I'll go over my likes and dislikes of both, maybe someone has a suggestion that will combine all of them, Please help.((BTW I have obviously used IPOD's and had an Archos 605 Wifi which broke and loved it but still not up for replacing it)) If you are familiar with the two devices, skip to the final paragraph for the short version.

The Archos had amazing video and audio quality and could play every file I threw at it, however I had to pay extra for the addons to play some files. I tend to get easily frustrated with touch screens, but the option is nice. Archos had a decent touch screen, but also hard buttons on the side that did everything as well. Also, the fact that I could drag and drop files onto the Archos without any 3rd party software was awesome. All the sorting of files was done on the device which was awesome! The main downside to the Archos was that it was a bit heavy and bulky, and extra costs for add-ons that should have been included.

As for the ipod touch, obviously it is remarkably versatile with its apps and amazing touch screen and interface. The size and portability of it is AMAZING as well. However, I seem to be unable to navigate with the ease of my finger as some do. Also, I do not want to use itunes. I want to be able to plug my device into ANY computer and put ANY file onto it and it'll play it. No applications, converting, or hassle necessary. The battery life is outstanding as well, but the video and sound is nothing too exciting.

I think I nailed just about everything I want. To recap:

Portability, battery life, and a responsive touch screen of an ipod, with the storage capacity, button options, video/audio quality, drag and drop readiness and file playing capabilities of the archos 605 wifi. Please, all suggestions are appreciated.
