Ubuntu has as many bugs as a filthy African baboon, but the developers would rather add new buggy features than solve its problems. The clueless hippies who created it named it 'Ubuntu' to give it an exotic, African name while its development more closely reflects the chaotic and violent African reality than some primitive African 'philosophy' which was, no doubt, stolen from the ideas of people in more successful lands. Hopefully people will soon realize how worthless Ubuntu is, much as people are now realizing that South Africa was better under Apartheid, when murder, rape, and HIV/AIDS were kept under control.

It is true that Ubuntu has some bugs. And so does everyone else's software, including your precious Microsoft. It's the nature of the beast.

But there are not nearly as many bugs, nor as serious ones, in Ubuntu/Linux as are found in each version of Microsoft Windows.

And, when problems are found in any Linux system, they are resolved much more quickly than Microsoft's second Tuesday, year unspecified, when "fixes" become available, if ever.

No they aren't. Ubuntu developers are narcissistic and only care about getting their names on some shiny (in their eyes) new feature, rather than making the OS *stable*, and as time goes on it is becoming more and more decrepit. Ubuntu is a joke that dirty African bushmen share with each other after a long hard day of hunting monkeys.

I use "Lucid Puppy" which is Puppy Linux, except it uses the Ubuntu repositories, and it's an improvement from previous puppies, so zip it.

Wow, they really screwed that pooch. All users are root, poor application availability, and support even poorer than the impoverished African Ubuntu. If I was a masochist I'd use gentoo and at least end up with a real system. Time to put that ugly, flea-bitten mutt down for its own good..

I understand, you don't like Ubuntu, but that doesn't change the fact that it's better than your OS.(unless of course, you use OpenVMS)

You think your pronouncements have any credibility after you've admitted to using Puppy Linux?

Puppy is a great distro.(way faster than yours)

Also quit attacking Ubuntu like a little sh*t. Ubuntu is what brought many of us to Linux.

Puppy sucks for the reasons mentioned above, and you've shown that you don't understand the first thing about what makes a good OS. And saying Puppy is "way faster than yours" without even knowing what OS I use shows that, like most dimwits who blindly pledge an allegiance to something, you're prone to making empty, unsubstantiated pronouncements.

Only idiots are too irresponsible to handle a root account. root = no bullshit.

The package availability for Puppy is great!! it has it's own repositories and it uses Ubuntu's, also there are thousands of .tars to be compiled. So everything is available for puppy.

Also, who needs support if you have a stable system, where everything works the way it should?

I should say you are the one with no credibility for being a filthy racist troll, who needs to get the facts.

Now back to the subject:

Ubuntu is the easiest to use Linux distro out there. And it introduced many of us to the world of real operating systems.

Ubuntu's just harder to tweak, and is kinda bloated, which does not make it bad.

BWAHAHAHAHA. You need go no further, you have already displayed your utter ignorance. If every user has root access, then every process running has root privileges. Your idiotic sentiments show that you have an understanding of the system at a level of newb. You have a laughably simplistic view that, as long as you avoid typos when typing commands in a shell, you're safe. Moron, unless you audit every line of code in every process you're running (including processes that receive less public scrutiny because anyone who isn't a moron isn't running them with root privileges), with every possible context these processes could possibly be running in, you have no clue what your system is allowing to happen with root privileges. But then, that description of utter ignorance seems to fit you quite well.

root = no bullshit, dipshit.

I already know that root gives me complete control, and no bullshit.

I will not allow my system to tell me what to do, like others in this forum.

Nobody uses this system but me, and I don't run wine so no Viruses for me.

Of course I understand that my applications get full control, and are not restricted, you don't have to remind me that I've got full power.

Also even though I use root, my system is still far more secure than yours!

Now take your shit elsewhere scumling.

You're only confirming what you've already implied -- you don't audit every line of code (in processes that are designed to run without root privileges but that you in your ignorance elevate to root), yet you think you have "control" over you system. This with packages that come from Puppy Linux!

Everything works just fine on my system, and I don't have to be told what to do by it.(nope, no stinking "access denied" messages for me!)

Man, why are people so stupid on these forums?

Nothing but flame wars and stupid ranting.....idiots

Can't anybody keep a reasonable and respectful conversation anymore? What's wrong with stating your point of view (without insulting / attacking anybody) and requesting feedback on same topic?

You didn't get me to leave by being "nasty," but simply by repeating yourself 'til I got bored. You didn't refute anything, and resort to "Everything works just fine on my system" which is as weak a statement as can be expected from any fanboy.

I'm not the only one who observes that Ubuntu developers care more about bells, whistles, and hype than about a stable operating system. There are many complaints (fanboys always try to shout them down, but they're out there). Ubuntu is a joke.
