blocking content on internet is difficult sometimes may end up blocking innocent sites.
for instance indonesia has been blocking porn for years but all sites providing proxy are also blocked including big names like hidemyass and anynomouse - in early days even google's gwt and archive.org 's waybackmachine weren't accessible (latter it turns out that wikipedia uses waybackmachine for links that no longer exist).
not to mention how packet inspection really violate our privacy.
what i don't understand is that some isp display ads on the blocked sites. are we trying to protect people from porn but give them up to consumerism which is equally filthy and dangerous?
censorship sucks, techically and in terms of privacy.
