We are ruled by machines. The political party machines.

If employed for public policy I wonder how long it would take the computers to act as our politicians - to lie to the public; to accept bribes from corporations; the rank priorities backwards; and to encourage the elitist mentality that the rich are good and the rest of us can eat cake. On the positive side, the computer could be shut down by pressing ctl-alt-del. I wish it were so easy to delete the political hacks locally and nationally. Or maybe recall petitions would be a good alternative.

Yes, weird as it might seem, the conclusion is becoming clearer and clearer each day ... that some of today's Republican leaders are not exactly human.
... which bring up an interesting question of eligibility for office that I'm not sure the Constitution addresses!

They were human before the the Corporate cube captured them & made they part of the collective known as Corporate America.

The Congressman did not beat the computer and neither did the big money winners on Jeopardy. No creative thinking involved in answering jeopardy questions ability to recall arcane facts when prompted by obtuse clues.
