Apple cuts iTunes prices to 69 cents

Apple Inc. is cutting the price of some songs in its market-leading iTunes online music store to 69 cents and plans to begin selling all tracks without copy protection.

Having no copy protection would be nice. I have I-tunes(pre-installed on computer) but own a MP3 player so if I want to listen to my legally purchased music, I have to burn a disk from my i-tunes, then copy the tracks back to my hard drive as mp3s then download to player. Kinda bite ya know.

What ever happened to just buying a CD? I guess I'll always be old school. You can find used CD's on Amazon and pay less for the whole thing than you would paying to download all the songs at any price. Maybe I'm just behind the times.

Even 69 cents is way too much to pay. When you download you don't get the CD, you don't get the jewel case, you don't get any insert - no lyrics, nothing. No reason it should cost you that much money. You're better off hooking up with one of the many Russian sites. They charge you a whole lot less for the same quality material, no copy protection and you can use them on your ipod.

i personally love itunes. I too use to have a mp3 player and would download from itunes only to have to burn to a cd to get the songs on the player. last year i went out and bought an ipod. i love the thing! best thing i've ever bought! as for just going out and buy the cd, i'd rather pay for just the songs that im gonna listen to which im sure is what a lot of people do

If you're going to pay for digital music, the least they can do is provide the artwork so you can make your own jewel case insert.

There is a way around having to burn a cd, my son has figured it out. I domt think its a hack, but it can be done.

you can get artwork at least when i download a song i get the cover artwork...takes up space on my ipod too, i always chose to not have artwork when i put the music on my ipod
