The Chinese are pissed at the US, so they're using hackers to destroy the US computers or something like that.

Wowser! Those are sobering thoughts, as the old saying goes. Not being deeply into computer security, but I've got Mozilla Firefox. Works great. Why the heck can't the feds have some superduper way of isolating and killing hackers then?

But hey they're not terrorists.
Our Vets are, as well as millions
of Americans who fall into the Messiah's
group of non-followers.

LMAO! You might as well pack your bags, don't cha know the word "terrorist" is no longer PC with the new administration? Plus, it is obvious from the Assessment that "thinking" is greatly frowned upon IF you can not Messiah agree when you "think" :)

so how do we know its actually the chinese government and not other attackers using proxy servers? Why is it that at my company I see 979743597034 hits a day in IPFW logs on our FreeBSD servers and I never really worry about it. Have not had any servers compromised in years. Many hits come from Chinese and Russian ip addresses. Usually see nessus and nmap scans along with ssh and ftp brute force attempts. A small IPFW script provides pretty good protection against this type of attacks. Open source software is constantly scrutinized by everyone in the world who wants to scrutinize. If there were some hole like a buffer overflow allowing remote access or priveledge escalation we'd know it..Or soon find out. The government knows all of this. They do not have the man power..nobody wants to be a top level security guy making what an entry level microsoft system engineer makes.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Capricorn

Get together with someone you respect and admire because you'll really enjoy their company. The conversation could soon turn to highly personal areas, yet there won't be any hesitation in talking straight from the heart. At some point you'll be in the mood to think about your New Year resolutions. Maybe you should write them in next year's diary so you can keep referring to them.
