It WASN'T the Asteroid.. we had to WORRY about.
It was the ASTEROID snacking into Jupiter causing the planets alighment to be OUT OF WHACK!! Which means planets out of their orbit will have the same effect as trying to get the EIGHT BALL in the side pocket.

Jupiter is a tad too big to be knocked about

The body that slammed into Jupiter last July almost certainly was an asteroid rather than a comet, and such impacts might happen as often as every 10 to 15 years

They do not want to scare us so they are not telling the whole truth that this planet earth we are all doomed because that Big Thing is headed for earth
