As for those wind genrating wind mils they are made in Chinapr0bably in a G.E. Chinese plant. I used to see them on the highway all the time---seems they ram out of buyers as the wind turbiones quit coming into this area by truck from the Gulf Port of Houston. Most solar and turbine energy generating companies are located in China and manufactured China. President Obama just put an import tax on SOLAR PANELS manufacured in China. We may see more manufacutring of solar panels as well as jobs in the soar panel industry.

So we just dismiss other sources of energy because they don't satisfy your standards ?? When you are thirsty you will drink what you can find.

When the cost of windpower is so expensive the average consumer could't afford to buy it then it's to expensive.

BTW, John Doe IS concerned about cost of stuff.

"John Doe" doesn't seem to concerned about the high cost of nuclear power and the government subsidies because private money is very hard or impossible to find.

There will NEVER be a day when non-green power sources will be able to taken offline.

Especially WIND POWER in the midwest doesn't provide electricity for a significant demand.

These windmills are nothing but cash burners. Truth be told anyone with 1/2 a brain would pull the plug on these MMPA windmills.

BTW, MMPA and its member towns WILL NEVER TELL THE TRUTH on how much the windmills cost and what they produce.

Much like the Community Center in North Saint Paul, Government wastes tons of cash before it ever bellies up to the proverbial bar and man's up to tell the truth like they have regarding the North Saint Paul Community Center.

Once the truth is out they are forced to do the right thing and close the cash sinkwhole down..

Exactly, the wind turbine in NSP is ill-sited, mis-sized, obsolete and poorly managed.

The thing is NOTHING but a liability. The day it explodes because of mismanagement it will be a miricle if someone isn't killed or injured. You see they installed it right next to a bike path and parking lot and in a municiple facility. In addition to being a site with very limited wind to power it the thing is close to many areas with people.

Can't fix stupid!

NSP caues the indmill to spin by burning coal to power the thing.

So it not only doesn't produce power it consumes power.

What a joke!!

I have never seen such a ripoff but not surprising from NSP.

@ Pappy. Obama is gearing up to coincide with some new solar panel plants that are about to come on line. One of the larger one is in California being built as we comment here. Will be up and running this December 2012. G.E. will be producing solar panels at a rate per year, that surpasses all the solar panels ever sold in the USA since inception. Suspect some will be using a new process called roll to roll imprinting. Can use a multitude of substrates to inject upon including flexible plastic.
Another growing field of solar is the parabolic array systems. Presently one or two in operation producing 500 Mega Watts each. 2 more on the way for the end of this year.[ Los Vegas and Death Valley]
Scuttle-butt on the street is that due to the opposition to alternative energies in Minnesota, they will be setting up wind farms in the adjoining states to sell the electricity to them. Ignorance can be profitable for the intellectuals. Rednecks back to the fields and make some money to pay for those whirly thing a majaegers . Your assistance not required. Thank You

lets see full disclosure on how mych electricity is generated by these wind turbines and how much it costs to operate same

or simply what is the cost per KWH of electricity from each of these turbines
