good point jersey, Europe has 3 times the amount of installed windpower as the US ( germany is about equivalent to the US), yet its still only 4% of their total energy needs ( hardly a great success, perhaps you would follow their lead and go nuclear for the rest). they power down during storms and high winds so they dont break though that drops their efficiency down alot.

I don't remember the details, but didn't Teddy get turbines off the coast of Hyannis killed? Maybe somebody remembers.

since the most suitable areas off the east coast have been overfished, they have turned to tourism to stay alive. putting wind turbines off their coast will pretty much kill whatever "old world charm" or "historic locale" attracts tourists. yeah, teddy has been working against it quietly. I hear he prefers putting them in among the oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico so they rip up the oil pipelines when the hurricane season comes in.

Please encourage everyone not to fart until we have the technology to harness it! That is a great idea, we can wear plastic pants and fart all day long. We can have farting contests with our co-workers. When our plastic pants get inflated and we cant sit in our chairs, there would be a valve stem in our pants and we would just fill up used propane tanks.

This is just pie in the sky BS from the liberals. We are no where near being able to replace even 10% of fossil fuel with solar and wind. The government knows they have to give you the promise of hope, or you wouldn't stand for the heavy taxation they have lined up for fossil fuels, and which you all we pay very heavily for. DO NOT believe the propoganda Obama is putting out about low income people not paying more. It will hit you the hardest, as the cost of EVERYTHING will go up substantially as a result of taxing the only viable energy source we have. The makers of your ding dongs will pay more for ingredients, more to power their plants, more to ship them to your neighborhood store, and the store will pay higher power costs ... and a supermarket's power costs are quite large already.

The governments strategy is to raise the price of traditional generation, coal, nuclear, nat'l gas, so that renewables will then be competitive with them. The price of renewable energy and its un-reliability is a major hurdle. Cap and trade will bring the costs closer together, thus making renewables appear to be a viable alternative. In the meantime, our utility rates will increase dramatically, the cost of everything we purchase will go up, U.S. companies will be forced to move off-shore in order to remain competitive, unemployment will increase, taxes will increase due to the increase in unemployment, etc, etc, etc. All in the name of climate change, which the cap and trade legislation will have no measureable impact on.

The lie is the "green alternatives" are not viable ... and may not be for 20 years or more. They are going to try and tax fossil fuels now! And there is no alternative. The chances of Obama Pelosi and Reid levying heavy taxes on energy without giving you some cocknbull story are pretty slim ... so they dangle the "green carrot" of false hope.

Don't worry, Obama and the Democrats have promised they will NOT increase taxes on anyone making under $200,000.00 a year and every one knows politicians don't lie and always keep their promises. I just wonder when they're going to get around to raising the minimum wage to $97.00 an hour so we all make over $200,000.00 a year. That's the only way they're going to keep that promise.

In Calif this is NOT the case... Our CA dumb-o-cratic lawmakers want to raise taxes again to pay off their union buddies. Keep in mind that they just raised our taxes at the end of last year. Increased car registration fees, increased State income tax, increased gas tax and increased sales tax... Unions = LESS bang for the buck ... How's that "hope and change" workin out for ya ?????

Because the greedy coal operators are soaking THEM for unheard of coal prices,,It was going for almost $400.00 a ton,,AMAZING!! And since Appalachian Power is NOT going to cut into THEIR profits,, they are going to pass it on to their customers. So,, I don't know if coal power is going to continue to be the "cheap" power. Absolutely NO ONE is getting $400.00 a ton for coal anywhere in the US. Morons like you is what gives the coal industry a bad name.

So why does Mr Taco Bell Salazar want to knock more Appalachian coal miners out of work? I think these people are plain assholes who are doing their best to destroy this country and we are allowing them to do it. This government sucks big time and are destroying this land in the name of what? Internationalism?
