B Riss, Either you didn't hear or read the entire speech or you simply failed to grasp what he was saying. He never criticized those rights you hold so dear or any others. He was lamenting the fact that all too often some Americans focus on simplistic, hot button issues like guns and religion because they don't understand the real issues that are affecting their lives. Things like guns, religion, abortion and patriotism make great bumper stickers. They're easy for demagogues to use to whip the masses into yet another dumbass frenzy over the wrong thing. Exactly as we're seeing now.
Your right to pray or own a gun have not been questioned or challenged. Your eagerness to focus on those two items instead of the issues that actually affect our lives has been commented on. Mentioned, brought to light or considered. But no one has suggested that you remove the "God and Guns" tattoo from your forehead.
Anybody who would vote for the crazy old fart from Arizona because of a single comment that they misunderstood deserves four more years of Bushit. Deserves to live in the police state that the Patriot Act is creating. Deserves to know that a hundred years from now, their great great grandkids will still be fighting and dying in Iraq for nothing.
Just so I can get the facts straight, since I admit I may have had the connotation of the speach; what are the big issues here? What do you feel is important in this election year? Also as a side note, what issues do you feel are not actual issues that are being blown out of proportion?

I am asking these questions because I have not followed extremely closely, and would like to hear other peoples opinions in order to form my own.

Why would I leave MY country? Politics is politics. I could sit here and state, whoever wins the election better fulfill the promises that were made to the U.S public. Or I can say well, Obama better recite the pledge of allegiance with truth and dignity. Whatever, this country has a history of turbulence and glory! What makes anyone think the future will not hold this as well? Regardless of who will be the next president of the U.S. Thats life!

Most important issues: The war. The economy. Manufacturing, jobs and infrastructure.
Issues ignored that should not be: Patriot Act (completely ignored) and immigration (mostly ignored).
Non-issues blown out of proportion: The race. Race.

<quoted text>"Stewy" Have you thought about the fact we haven't had another attack since 9/11? I don't know if Pres.Bush had anything to do with that or not,but I rather fight them in Iraq than here.Obama has said he is the one to bring about change.I'm wondering what kind of change. It may be worse than "idiot Bush".You sound really smart & intelligent, why don't you run? I bet you have all the answers for fixing illegal immigration, our economic woes, and all other problems of this country. You are one of the idiots as far as I'm concerned to place ALL the blame for the Iraqi war on the President. The best I remaember he also had the backing of congress. Also know that the "militant Islamic Jahiad" is a force that we are going to have to face up to sooner or later.I rather try to do something now. There are just plenty of narrow-minded idiots like you who thinks we should have wrapped this thing up in say 60 days & come on home.It doesn't always work like "Dessert storm".They don't have the answer themselves so all they know to do is go around blaming the Pres.I will be waiting to see if the dems get in if they do any better.I think they will do nothing, except finish giving this country away.Yeah, you should run,I bet you got all the answers, maybe you can serve in Osama's cabinet.
Excuse me there, as far as illegal immigration goes I am absolutly sure, that Bush works it out for his advantage. He's complaining alright about it but in the end he welcomes all those cheap workers, cause he's only a big ol' sucker imho. 9/11 was very well planned by our "bushwashed" government. Don't call everyone stupid here. After all this is just a regular DISCUSSION board, where everyone has the right for free speech.
I seriously believe that your soo beloved Bush should first get a real good head examination. He's suffering aspergers, dyslexia and highly venoinous snake syndrom, amongst other things. Enough is enough. He had his chance twice in a row, ownly because of cowards like you, who were and still are afraid of change. That's why most of americans never make it further as to their front doors when going on vacation (if you know what I mean). Fear of change is what has kept america so low, it's time to stand up and do something against it. Or do you enjoy so much being stuck at the very same point of your life for good?

You should be rubbing it into the faces of those who voted for BUSH. Look at where this great country is now after his wonderful 8 years. High unemployment, housing market in shambles, high gas prices, high food prices, American dollar being devalued, Our kids dying in Iraq, and borrowing money from China our new best friend.

Are you really so stupid that you believe what you just posted? If any of what you posted were actually true don't you think McSame would be using it every time he opens his mouth? because if he didn't that would make him the stupidest candidate in the history of America, and maybe the world. If Obama were now or had ever been a Muslim he could not possibly be where he is today because of the virulant anti Muslim feelings in America since 911, get some common sense, you are an embarassment to all Americans.

I'm guessing you didn't go to Snopes.com like Incogneto suggested. You should be careful about only going to sites that tell you what you want to know whether its true or not. You are free to vote anyway you like for any reason, and if you are a racist biggot just say so, but if you are just afraid of Obama because of any of the things about him that you posted, then you need to do a lot more research, because not one thing you posted about him is true. Look around you should have no problems finding some true reasons to not vote for him, or just fall back on the old standard, I won't vote for a n*****r, it's foolish, but honest.

While many are not in the economic shape to actually "Leave the country" should Barack Obooma actually win the election, they may as well, according to recent studies and discussions . The prevalient mood is that most who despise him will be suddenly "Unfranchised " and cease to be usefull, productive citizens,(much like his admireres already are) the dismal and hopeless feelings that will soon engulf mainstream America should such a poser actually be elected will probably be the "proverbial " straw that finally breaks the U.S. Camels back. I, like many, maqny other democrats, choose McCain over Obooma

Here, here! The same has happened in the UK but no sign of an election. If only Enoch Powell was alive.

The only people who share your opinion are ignorant bigots who get their marching orders from Rush or from some other nitwit at the bar. As far as that crap about Obama's supporters being useless or unproductive that just shows how little you know. At my caucus there wasn't one welfare recipient or even an unemployed person. Obama supporters included the principal of our high school. The superintendent of a state hospital. Owner of a construction company. Realtor. Dentist. The guy who owns the Radio Shack. A couple of retired folks. A graduate student and other, intelligent, productive people whose pets can spell better than you. Did you go to your caucus or vote in your primary? Do you take your hood off before you vote?
If you want another four years of Bush, vote for McCain if it makes you feel white. It won't change anything because you don't count.
