someone told me yesterday that they went to gran canaria 6 weeks ago its something they have done for the past 20 years and they were shocked by the amount of swedes there, the scandinavian travel agents block book many of the hotels for the summer season hes never known anything like it before but im guessing these could be the same scandinavians that would normally holiday in gambia? dont know if the swedish tourists are down this year but this could explain it.

I am happy they banned Skype from Internet cafes maybe people will get a bit more peace now they have to pay for there calls well now they will be wanting iPhones ow android so they can still Skype for free get a life u moans and a job then u can have nice things instead of stealing or begging from people I hope there is less pele there next season maybe there will have to address the issues this country has with busters and prostitutes I was plated every day with free Skype messages now it is bliss not a 1 cos not free now keep the good work up yaya.

Well, maybe if the gambians could not be bothered to rise up against the president over the executions of innocent people and condemnation of gay people, they MAY rise up over THIS issue as they will be severely affected by not being able to use skype for conning and fooling silly women who actually believe some of these men are in love with them. More space in the internet cafes too.

Lets face it what can I girl of say 20 or 25 have in common with say a 50 or 60 yo man lol same goes for women 40 to 50. With young Rastas not just Rastas but men from 18 to 30 let's face facts gambia is a scamming country every were u go take it for what it is enjoy it when u r there but what happens in gambia stays in gambia and never buy a taxi or send money to any 1 as they will spend and ask for more wise up men and women who go to gambia .

I agree 100% its amazing what goes on or what is being said when your in the internet cafe trying to email an you can hear all the bullsh&t around you when they are skyping their women, they finish the bullsh&t with one woman, buy another 15 mins to say the exact same thing to another, you can hear the conversations both ways, part of me is chuckling to myself but the other part feels really sorry.

Here how it goes.... hello darling.. I miss you so much..how is the family... yes am okay, just managing you know...
(taxi owner that the woman has bought him) Oh darling I got stopped by the police and they took the taxi I need 1000 dals to get it out...
No darling I havent had breakfast but will try and get some dinner tonight with the 20 dals I have.
Oh darling.. I cant ring you as someone stole my fone...
Darling.. now is not a good time to come over as I have to go to the village and help the family with the crops, how about you come next month..(translates) I have another woman coming over this month...

All this and a lot more I hear and they dont just say it to one but say it to maybe 2-3 women.

In all fairness I see mainly more men than women in the internet cafes, the women I do see are dressed up to the nines but they always seem to have a man with them whether its thier 'friend' or boyfriend I dont know, but the majority are men who are hogging the internet and many are waiting to get on.

Hilarious Cora and so true. You can't hear yourself think in a Gambian internet cafe because they are all shouting to their toubabs on Skype. You're right's it's all the same script to each woman.

"I miss you so much baby, how is your work and how is your nice family?. life is not easy here, Tabaski in coming up, I need to buy a lamb for my poor mother, i need at least $200 (I overheard one scammer in Brikama shout this out to a 70 year old called Betsy from Montana who looked like Bette Davis). he had to shout because he was illiterate. He was annoyed that she had got his Western Union transfer details wrong. This scammer called Juldeh Sowe was not poor, he owned a shop in Brikama market and owned a farm But like many bumsters he is a scammer who spends his nights online conning women around the world. That could be one of the reasons the big man is claimping down on Skype, because it is being used for fraud.

But it's the same script being spouted out nightly to their. different women (victims), I miss you so much baby, my mother sends her love. It would be great to have a laptop so we could chat every day it's hard to find a computer these days, a laptop/smartphone would be so much easier". And on and on it goes and some women are mug enough to fall for it.
