Where was the park service people? Don't the parks have a helicopter. We pay enough taxes for the parks, so why are the county fire department and CHP handling calls in the parks?

For being a taxpayer you certainly don't have a clue! Do you have any idea how much money it would cost for the park district to maintain and employ a rescue staff? This is what we pay the county for. This is their job! The taxes paid to the park district go to many other important things that are under their control-not firefighter duties. Why not post something positive about this awesome rescue and the thankfullness that they man was saved? Goodness, it's Christmas! Put a happy face on today at least!

Merry Christmas! Just wondering why the park service has a police and fire department. I see them driving up and down the freeways all the time, but then you read about all these other agencies doing the work. Just wondering where the money goes as we approach this supposed financial cliff.
