Should evolution be taught in high school?

There are 178661 comments on the www.scientificblogging.com story from Feb 24, 2008, titled Should evolution be taught in high school?. In it, www.scientificblogging.com reports that:

Microbiologist Carl Woese is well known as an iconoclast. At 79 years of age, Woese is still shaking things up. Most recently, he stated in an interview with Wired that...

"My feeling is that evolution shouldn't be taught at the lower grades. You don't teach quantum mechanics in the grade schools. One has to be quite educated to work with these concepts; what they pass on as evolution in high schools is nothing but repetitious tripe that teachers don't understand."

Mutations are more likely to be harmful or damaging rather than helpful. Mutations in genes can either have no effect, alter the product of a gene, or prevent the gene from functioning properly or completely.

The big bang theory. Something exploded and caused order. Explosions don't cause order, they cause destruction/dis-order.

That wasn't horrible until we got to Harun Yahya, AKA Adnan Oktar.

So what's your point with 'living fossils'?

You've been reading too much Yahya/Oktar.

For your Wiki source:
"It is believed that the overwhelming majority of mutations have no significant effect on an organism's fitness."

Better have that foot looked at.

Again, from your Wiki source:
The Big Bang is not an explosion of matter moving outward to fill an empty universe. Instead, space itself expands with time everywhere and increases the physical distance between two comoving points.

You might try reading this stuff first.

Well, that's the problem with reinventing the wheel. There's a lot of "hadn't thought of" inherently involved in the process.

How to prove lenski lied. Breed bacteria in a double chamber that is well ventilated. Put small amounts of bacteria in each chamber. Feed the bacteria their normal food in the center of both sides, but on one side, add a small piece of citrus, furtherest away from their food.

Science has become morons for money, as the gov's paid lackies of evolution, make complete idiots out of college grads, to kill religion, so the already fully corrupted gov, can usurp religions power.

Fruking morons.

"Living fossils" in no way harm the theory of evolution.

Why do you think they would?

Bad genes quickly die out. Good genes are preserved. As long as we get some good genes that is all that is required for evolution.

The Big Bang was not an explosion.

Quit getting your "science" from lying creatard sites.

Two questions.

If the Big Bang was not an explosion, why are all galaxies traveling at hundreds of thousands of miles per hour?

In other words, if there was no Big Bang to propel the galaxies to such speeds, what did and show evidence.

The next is, if galaxies travel so fast, how did individual planets settle into a place in one

for a picture of a big bang look at my profile picture.

your wrong about your good gene/ bad gene synopsis.
