Should evolution be taught in high school?

There are 180394 comments on the www.scientificblogging.com story from Feb 24, 2008, titled Should evolution be taught in high school?. In it, www.scientificblogging.com reports that:

Microbiologist Carl Woese is well known as an iconoclast. At 79 years of age, Woese is still shaking things up. Most recently, he stated in an interview with Wired that...

"My feeling is that evolution shouldn't be taught at the lower grades. You don't teach quantum mechanics in the grade schools. One has to be quite educated to work with these concepts; what they pass on as evolution in high schools is nothing but repetitious tripe that teachers don't understand."

There, that's something original. I mean, you don't care if it's true, right? Only originality matters. No matter how bullshit it is, if it's original it's good. I'm sure that's the approach to science that cured polio.
How can you say that 2 + w = Paris? Using psycho's formula, I can prove that my car is gray.

Mucous membranes due to number of blood vessels (capillaries) near the surface.

Evolutionary medicine is using this to develop new treatments and inoculations.

That is the correct answer. We now await your batshit crazy "answer".

Mixing the attributes of being generally pissed off plus being stupid does not constitute new thinking. It's been tried before.

That would be pissed off, UNEDUCATED AND stupid.

There is a rifle pointed at your front door. You don't know when it will be fired. You don't know who is firing it. You don't know why it is there. But it's there. You can't see it unless you first believe it's there, but it is there. It's aimed about gut level, one of the most painful and slow methods of death. The only way to stop it from firing is to give the shooter money, every single day. But since you can't get to the shooter you have to give it to the person who comes to you once a week to collect it.

Addendum!

With good and bad in everything, science needs to take a complete approach, but so far, science has limited its thinking to what the incrowd feels safe, In all presentations.

Just as the Evo morons criticize all not just like themselves, hence, a tiny bit of new thinking in all science, save the latest in computer technology.

There is sooo very much cross checking science could do, but it seems science is like schools, in that it goes about its business, as taught in schools.

Pathetic, just as medicine could be so much further along, if Not for self and dominance.

I find that slightly worrying :-)

But does illustrate my point that you don't have to be a raving lunatic to come up with nonsense.

Clueless as shown by the drivel he posts
Dishonest - as he insists no-one can refute his drivel - we do - he ignores it.
Would have sympathy if he wasn't such an obnoxious git

I sort of noticed that as well, but I keep hoping he's not completely insane. He just insists on proving that he is. It's like he hates religious people and wants to make them all look insane.
