Because every time you see the date...every cell phone display, every computer, every TV, every newspaper, magazine, and book; every time you write the date yourself; every birthday, every year, every time you sign a contract, sign a mortgage; basically what governs our measure of time; everyone from the POTUS on down to the newborn baby, you will be reminded of Jesus Christ. So every second, minute, hour, day, and year is a reminder of God and his creation. That is a fact you cannot escape as much as you want to. Even if your atheist/darwinist movement manages to get the calendar changed to reference Harry Potter, the reference will still be there. Talk about escaping from reality? The Lord is everywhere as plain as the nose on your face. UC, I don't want to or care. No, I am not "reminded of JC". Am I reminded of Thor every time I notice that its Thursday???? But if I do think about it, why should I dislike the thought? My heritage is in Western civilisation. Nobody sane denies the impact that Christianity has had on our culture. I am proud of my culture. But, you know, you are proud of it too and a huge part of our heritage comes from the ancient Greek. You can appreciate their massive contribution too, without believing in the Iliad, or Zeus. The only difference between you and me, in this regard, is that I can take what is good from both these contributing strands, without having to "believe in" either one of them. My thinking is part of the new strand that emerged from the contribution of both - the Enlightenment and the scientific world view.

Was this really what we call dinosaur in modern times. Because this would make sense if man walked with the dinosuars. There are numerous other legends. Dinosaurs used to be called dragons and other similar names. The term dinosaur wasn't used until the 19th century. Interesting. But if you combine other evidence such as the soft tissue, carvings, bible references, creation account, etc., this all fits. Again, as plain as the nose on your face. Seriously grasping at straws. We simply have no evidence of any dinosaurs living above the KT boundary, which has been dated according to multiple agreed scientific methods to 65 m.y.a. Of course, evolution would not rule out such creatures continuing to exist in some forgotten corner after the Cretaceous, but we have absolutely no evidence for them.

Hahaha You really, really are a silly one, aren't you? The Chinese found some predatory dino skulls, yes. They though it was the skull of some magic fire breathing dragons. 1) The 'soft tissue' you speak of was protected by mineralisation 2) The Bible references talking snakes and global floods. It is useless. 3) The creation account, again, speaks of talking snakes. It is useless. Now, here are questions I would like you to ponder some questions: a) Are our dating methods wrong? Prove it b) Is the geologic column wrong? Prove it c) Why does the mining industry rely so heavily on our understanding of geology? d) How many mining companies use 'Creationist' methods to find ore?

I look at how solid your claims are. They fail, and you ignore it. Another one you have never responded to: The magnetic reversals occur over thousands of years. Creationists took the work of Coe and Prevot which was discussing fluctuations within one particular reversal, and misrepresented it as claiming reversals could occur in a few days. Even after C&P corrected them and explained why, they continued to claim it. As it stands, magnetic reversals are still a huge issue for your YEC view. But none of you address it, nobody acknowledges that C&P were misrepresented, and its seems that merely making a claim by creationists is enough to seal it in for all time as "the proper explanation" no matter how false it is. That is you take the claim eagerly, and never examine it critically. That is just one example. We also have the three I mentioned a couple of days back, which you still have not addressed.

No, it is simply a reminder that people were more superstitious and ignorant in the past and that we are social creatures that don't change certain conventions easily.

If it is your argument that smart people are just as screwed up as you are, you don't have a very good argument. The difference between belief and science is scientists measure things and write them down and you make shít up and write it down.

Urban Cowboy wrote: <quoted text> You obviously have no idea what the founding fathers had in mind. It's because of them - Christians - that this country is great. It is because of people like you - the radical left - lying and revising history - that it is being destroyed. I'm a Republican, you jerkoff. Not that they make me proud. This country is great not because of Christianity but because the founders had the foresight (and hindsight) not to allow this country to become a theocracy - whether they were Christian or not. They knew there would be people like you in the world and they were not willing to let your ilk have the power to dictate to the rest of us. I grew up in Philadelphia. Spent more time in Independence Hall and spent more time reading Jefferson, Franklin, Paine and others than you've ever dreamed of.

Magnetic reversals are not a problem. Even predicted in the creation model. We all recognize the reversals as recorded in the sea floor basalt and others. It's the relative strength observed gradual decline of planetary (Earth and others) geomagnetic field force that is so compelling as evidence of a young universe. The current observed magnetic strength of planets is not supported in old-age evolution models. http://www.icr.org/article/4483/ ...and numerous other peer-reviewed scientific articles.
