My father was diagnosed with vascular dementia 5 years ago following a stroke. His movement has rapidly deteriorated in the last few weeks and has been treated with antibiotics, then suddenly yesterday as if the fog had lifted, he was completely lucid, his short and long term memory had returned, all cognitive ability was normal, he was recounted things that have been happening of the last few years and was organising and planning. Unfortunately the next day it started slipping back.
Now we are wondering if he has dementia at all or has been misdiagnosed and it is something else
